Yep, ditto! That's how I've done it for years.

TRICARE Prime is the way to go. Do the Delta dental and vision plans.

I haven't called to schedule just yet, given conflicts in the near term with current job. Can you or anyone else recently through the process estimate how much lead time I will have when I call to schedule the interview? One week? three weeks? six weeks?

Thanks, and I hope I haven't overlooked recent information already in the forum somewhere....
When I called, they had options of two days out or 60 days out. I took the interview on 48 hours' notice. Got hired and didn't have time to get nervous. Most guys seem to have a couple of months to prep, but if you'll get your prep done and study up, the flexibility can pay off.

I got invite May 29, called same day. First avail interview was July 24. You can always call back to try to get an earlier interview if they have fallout.

Any TRs wanna chime in? I've heard it's best to go Tricare Standard and the Delta plan for everything else. Thoughts?

As a TR you'll qualify for Tricare Reserve Select ($204 for family/month). Tricare Standard or Prime when on orders over 30 days. I stick with Standard that we dont have to change doctors when on orders. Delta Dental. Dont need a vision plan. PM me if you have more Qs. Ive gone on and off MLOA 6 times now.

Strong call man, I wouldn't have had the confidence to take only 2 days notice, unless of course I'd already been fully prepping (which I hadn't been doing until the actual offer to interview came).

I asked personnel to make a note in my file that I was a volunteer for any fallout. They called me with a 9 day turn from my original notification to interview which I accepted; however, they filled it before I was able to get back to them with my answer. They then called me a couple weeks later for an interview that gave me about a month's prep which I was able to take advantage of.

I think we'll find out tomorrow. It seems like class invites go out 3 weeks prior and since the normal Monday training is beginning tomorrow, I'd assume the people who make the training happen also have the day off.
