That is because you are never made "whole" for accepting the call. I had a friend who owned a software business and sat on a jury for almost a month. He lost tens of thousands of dollars from clients that he could not service the month he was gone and got paid like $15/day. He was treated like crap during the whole process and said he would do anything he could to get out if ever called again.

Ouch. I've done this whole gig a few times for court martials and I've never made it past the selection stage. I'm far too right wing in regards to my views on justice for any defense attorney to let me possibly sentence his/her client. I also strongly oppose large verdicts in civil cases which makes me untouchable to a plaintiff's attorney. Pretty sure my jury duty will last 1 day.
She probably walked out laughing saying "haha works every time! Got out of it again!"
Definitely a sure way to prevent getting picked, but as someone on here stated serving on a jury is a very high calling and I didn't take it lightly. The decision we made affected both parties. It's just sad that people who are self employed do lose out so much. In the airline industry, most of us are pay protected and that I was very thankful for that day.

But where should we get the money to make a juror "whole?" Or perhaps we should only select jurors from the homeless?
Back to the topic: FedEx just announced it will begin fishing from the same pool as DAL and the other majors. It's a good time to be a pilot. Here's to hoping you all spend a very short time in the pool before you're on the stringer with us!

Trying to gauge where the pool stands...
Anyone from a Sep 3rd or later interview group get called for a class? From what I can tell that's roughly where the pool has left off.
As far as the next class, I think it's Nov 17th, but if someone has better Intel, chime In!
Lastly, what is the projected rate of SSP hires for the the next few classes?

The pool used to have a lot more people and they had to wait a lot longer. With the quick turn from interview to indoc the need for an excel document went the way of the dodo.

The spreadsheet was money when guys were trying to figure out 5-7 month waits for training earlier this year, and when to give notice at work/retire from the military, etc. Much simpler now... about 2 months. No need for a grassroots spreadsheet anymore, although it was a thing of beauty. Moment of silence for MontanaMike and Badger... the Dread Pilots Robert.
