Depends. Are you a member of the check of the month club? I'm assuming you are not? One guy told me a lot of amigos in various airline pools paint homes. I told him my wife says I do home remodeling projects way too slow (too much of a perfectionist). He said, "Well, paint fewer homes then." :-) On a serious note, I don't know if I'd instruct just because I'd be wary of getting involved in some kind of FAA "incident" or "accident". I might do that after all but it would not be at the top of my list. I seriously thought, "Well, maybe I'll only instruct in NON-retractable gear planes!"
(BTW, I'm in the check of the month club and even that doesn't please some people. My wife said she hoped for $100K in savings and a job in hand before I retired. I don't think she understands how fortunate we are to be hired only 4 months after leaving the AF.

)Yeah I'm a little leery of doing the whole CFI thing, especially with a small operation that I'm unfamiliar with. Did that in college but it was for a 141 school. Seems like more to risk now... but flying is my only job skill!
PBR, Ramen Noodles, fixed gear Cessnas... and maybe a road trip... sounds exactly like college.

Twister I'm neither a COTM member nor a 100K in the bank member. Life would be nice if I was! I'm Palace Chasing to a C-130 guard unit, but have to go to Little Rock for training, once off consolidation, before I'm useful to them.

MTSUFlyer I sent a PM to you about going to Little Rock! Going to be in a similar situation soon.

Hello swimmers,
I'll try to update the spreadsheet tomorrow. Thanks to whoever said that this is all based on rumors an innuendo.
I wish I was on AF's speed dial with gold info but alas I just lurk here, gleaning what info I can.
Cheers,
Badger

"Delta Air Lines, Inc. (NYSE: DAL) announced that it will stop expanding its flight capacity next year, in an effort to sell more seats at higher prices and fill up more seats.
The company said it will grow its capacity in the range of 0-2 percent in 2016, as compared to a surge of about 3 percent this year.
Stagnant overseas demand for U.S. airlines have forced them to limit foreign services so less discount fares are required to sell out flights."
Anyone have any Intel for how the decrease in expansion will affect the swimmers? How about those that are waiting in line at the diving board?

1. It's been pretty dang accurate. In 2014 when I was in the pool, his estimate was within 1 class for me IIRC.
2. He's doing this pro-bono, out of the goodness of his heart, getting nothing out of it except the satisfaction of helping others (he's been out of the pool for over a year).
3. If you can do better, go for it.
4. Badger rocks.

Thanks Elvis. I appreciate it.
I looked at last year's numbers and Delta hired 116 in December (two classes). I have no idea about this year. I hope it ramps back up soon.
Cheers!

For anyone who had the gall to complain about Badger's spreadsheet:
