I hope this is alright to post in this forum, if not then I apologize.
I received the "Fix-It" emails today and am wondering if this means anything more than them reviewing my application. I have been updating my application every month for the past year and a half, with this being the first time getting an actual email from the recruitment team. Can I assume the potential for an interview invite has gone up now?
I'm sure that there have been fix-it emails sent out to people who then never hear back from Delta again...just trying to get a perspective.
Thanks

Currency / Recency: Straight from Capt Kraby!
Gents -
Retired USAF 1 June 2015 and was flying right up to the end. Not working now (cool!) but I'm also not currently flying (not cool!). Got an e-mail straight from Capt Kraby before I got the interview invite telling me that DAL usually looks for min of 100 hrs of turbine time in the last 12 mos to get the interview invite. Had about 200 when I retired and got the interview invite 15 Jul and the CJO 29 Sep.
However.....as we all know, pool time is running (right now) at almost 7 months CJO to Indoc. So here's my question:
Does anyone know if having a min of ~ 100 hrs turbine time in the last 12 months once you start Indoc (or sim start) is a show-stopper or not? If it is, I will NOT have it; at 12 mos out of the cockpit (5 months of military retirement + 7 months swimming) I'd be about 0.
I know AK says our CJOs are good for 12 months but it makes no sense to me that DAL pretty much requires 100 hrs turbine in 12 mos to GET the interview but they don't care about recency of flight time from CJO to indoc? Yeah, I know that 99% of swimmers are still flying but as a check-of-the-month guy I don't fit that category. Concerned about it because I don't want to show up in friggin' May 2016 for indoc and have DAL tell me I now don't have the currency they want to start training. Would REALLY appreciate any credible words from anyone, especially anyone that might be in the same boat. If I need turbine time even now (when I'm swimming in the pool), I need to fly temporarily for a puddle jumper vs getting a sim job or delivering pizza to sorority girls.
What say you?....

I looked around in my e-mail inbox and actually found this from Capt Kraby from clear back in March of 2015. I feel a little silly about not having remembered he already answered my question but I figured I might as well post it just in case some other swimmer worries about the same currency / recency issue I did:
"Delta does not have an absolute number regarding recency but, in general, we use 100 hours of turbine time in the past 12 months as a yardstick. However, since many military pilots, especially those approaching retirement, are not in flying billets we take a very lenient approach towards this recency requirement IF the military pilot has previously logged a sufficient number of flight hours. However, if this lack of recency extends beyond 2-3 years then we suggest that the pilot regain his or her recency either in another military flying billet or with a regional airline prior to being considered by Delta.
Best regards,
Arnie"
So, there you have it. At least for a military guy it looks like as long as you have tons of flight time and haven't gone over 2 years out of a cockpit (whether that be cockpit to CJO, cockpit to indoc or cockpit to sims) you're good to go.
Cheers!

Background Check Complete?
Anyway, how long does it typically take to get the green light e-mail? flyfresno says apparently more than 3 months???

Question: The background check company told me my investigation was open/ongoing when I called them. I have no skeletons in my closet whatsoever so I'm expecting good news but would like to get the e-mail ASAP (just like everyone else, I'm sure).

Twister,
Me and another guy from my interview group never received background complete emails, even months after the rest of our group. We both called the company but the customer service people could only provide vague assurances that the check was complete (and they said they didn't have my email address--not sure why). I called Delta Pilot Selection just to be sure and they said don't worry about it, that they would have contacted me if there was a problem. So I guess it goes back to the whole 'No news is good news' theory...

This is winning comm from delta. They want to call you in but something is incomplete on the app. Read the email carefully and fix whatever is messed up. Usually it is a gap in education or employment. They want to see all the jobs back to high school and not just the last ten years. Make sure all the dates touch. Fix it today and send a professional response thanking them, I've fixed it, looking forward to the opportunity, etc. send it to the same email address you received it from. I did this and so have several bros. I received the invite to interview a week after doing this. Good luck (and pick a 73N to atl...).
Thanks for the responses.
Deltacat - I had a less than one month stint working at Menards while i was in-between jobs - do I put that down as well? I also did a few months of work-study at the university airport in college. Do I add in an employment block for being in school?
Company - In College
Supervisor - N/A
Street - college address
etc etc....
OR do I explain each gap in the "unemployment history" block?
Thank you for your time!

As far as your work, I listed everything, even back to my first job as a paperboy at about age 10. So....I'd list your Menards job, too. Why not? If they look you in the eye during the in person ap review (which they WILL go over every page of your application during the panel interview) and ask if "every job" is listed, you can tell them "yes" instead of possibly fidgeting and saying "no". Not listing a job and they find out about it looks suspicious to them. "Did you not get along with your boss?" "Did you get fired?" Just list it. If your work-study bit at the airport ended up with you getting paid ($$$$), I'd list that as well. Again, why not?
Good luck!
