Here's some stats for you.

Out of the 11,620 names on the seniority list the average age at their DOH was 33.04.

Of those, 3 were 21 on their DOH, 20 were 22, 61 were 23, 98 were 24 and 201 were 25. These are known to use as the Super Premium Escalator Targets.

So unlike college coeds, they got older as the years went by. Here is where these Escalator Targets are on the chart...

There are some funny dots in there but I've double checked their seniority and hire dates and it comes up right. I'll work on it again later.

I enjoyed the Jay Leno show and was glad to tune and watch it last night. But I haven't watched late night TV in a decade or so, so when the KY Jelly commercials started I thought it was some normal product trying to make you think they were talking dirty and then there is a punchline.

Nope, no punchline. It was about using lubricant at 4am on the dudes birthday.

Wow, look at all those purple dots to the right of number 5000!

I guess flying for the Majors is now becoming a second career? I hope they got retirement plans from their first career!

Oh, and on the Super Lube commercials? I told my wife that's what I want for my birthday....big time eye roll!

So, forgot to bid...care to modify that last chart to compare the ages at DOH to the rise of outsourcing narrowbody feed to the regionals? I'll bet there's a pretty strong correlation!

Due to 9/11 and years of furloughs/stagnation at the legacies, I'm guessing that "first career" for most new-hires was RJ driver -- with no retirement.

Yes. Outsourcing. and the senior guys (like Lee Moak) wonder why we are so hell bent to eliminate this fact from pilots' careers. Think about the effect of that chart from a money perspective.

Trying to be optimistic ... there is some good news for new hires...

The AE award resulted in 296 AEs, 25 reinstatements and no displacements. On the bid we posted 50 7ER First Officer openings and filled 36 leaving 14 unfilled. ATL had six 7ER-B unfilled positions and DTW had eight. Other unfilled positions included: ATL73NB (6), DTW73NB (2), NYC73NB (31), DTW320B (5), NYC320B (13), ATLM88B (22), NYCM88B (19) and ATL717B (8). These positions will be filled by new hires and posted on future bids.
