Chairman's Letter is out regarding contract survey. They really, really want us to fill it out this time...after reading the contract history and industry comparison documents, which I did, taking some glaring biases into account. And even though they'll never ever release the results, which I kinda expected as that's become business as usual at DALPA. And after attending a base visit, which I checked against my September schedule - no go, can't make any. Oh well, I thought, I'll just go over to the MEC website and fill it out. Except it's nowhere to be found. Am I missing something? Do we actually have to attend a base visit in order to fill out the contract survey, or is it just not on the website quite yet .

Dude, you are missing almost everything. But that's not a surprise. It's in the first sentence. Did you read everything else this thoroughly?

The problem for me has apparently been not understanding what you deem to be the MEC administration. The MEC Chairman, I agree completely that he is part of the administration. Negotiating Committee members, Strategic Planning Committee members, Communications Committee members have all been committee members in my mind and not the MEC administration. Otherwise a DPAC Committee member or a Scheduling Committee member or a Contract Administration Committee member or an R&I Committee member or a P2P Committee member or a Membership Committee member or a Safety Committee member or a Training Committee member or an IFOT Committee member, etc, etc would all be a part of the MEC administration. I think that's why some of your posts about the "administration" haven't made a lick of sense to me. You're talking about committee members too when you say "the administration". I thought you were talking about the MEC Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary and the 2 MEC Administrators.

Just to make a point about "MEC Administration":

The ONLY committee chairman you listed that is directly elected by the elected representatives is the Negotiating Chairman. The rest of the Chairmen are APPOINTED by the MEC Chairman and then OK'd by a majority vote of the reps (most times these appointments are a "group" appointment with the ratification vote...thus no individual vetting by the reps gets to happen).

I consider a chairman appointed...a member of the Administration.

Where in my post did I say that there was no room for improvement? Where in my post did I even mention FDX or UPS? Where in my post did I say that ours was perfect? On the other hand, YOUR posts cite nothing but doom and gloom and how abused we are. Ours is pretty good compared to most, not as good as some. Grow up.

It would also be worthy to note how many additional "days" you get off with the amount of vacation you get. A 7 day "week" of our vacation usually only gets someone 3 maybe 4 extra days off. 6 hours a day is very powerful and actually gets you a full week off or slightly more. We don't need more vacation we need better vacation. 5 hours a day should be the minimum, and until/unless that happens, we're wizzing in the wind about the 6th week and touch drop fantasies that are never coming back.

I see you have dredged up the same webboard talking points again, so we will try one more time to see if you can make an honest answer to a direct question.

If the 717's were going to come anyway, then why in the hell did management give us $1 billion 6 months early in order to get them?

Let's see if you can come up with some answer with even a shred of logic behind it. You used to say that that mainline wouldn't grow, that it was all a sham, and now that it actually is occurring, we have another bid with almost 400 positions, you have to change the story to "it would have happened anyway." How convenient for you.
Well, my hero, I may have said mainline wouldn't grow, but I am allowed to change my viewpoint based upon what actually happens. Or am I frozen in one position from two years ago? Am I allowed to change my view?

I have never changed my story that the 717s wouldn't have come. They were too good of a deal. You, on the other hand, are the one that said they wouldn't come unless we signed on the dotted line. I believe you and your cronies tied c12 to 717s when in fact they were separate events and opportunities.

Management gave us a contract partially funded by concessions to expand DCI scope to buy desireable RJs. I was not the one that ever linked 717s to the contract, that was DALPA.

I done know where web board talking points come from. My mind has it's own perceptions and views. Some people say things better than I do. Does that make them talking points. I don't write anything unless it is my perception. Nobody prompts me, I don't strategize with anyone.

I've heard you're a smart guy. It's too bad you're not a nice guy. My perception is you have done some good things. I have no doubt you have worked hard and done what you think is right. I don't know why you have to view opposing views as the enemy, but that's your cross to bear.

Whiners? Because we dont agree? Step up to the plate? Dont be naive, Skipper, its not as easy as you say by stepping up, especially if your ideas are completely opposite of the current admin. You are automatically a whiner, trouble maker or donut eater if you dont agree with 4833.

Alfa, thank you for your hard work. Lets all work much harder and get much better than C2012.

Perhaps your observation is correct and centers around the Cain Complex. Or, perhaps not and it's just too bad that he is not a nice guy.

Shame. With some charisma and personality, that would be quite a skill set for one to possess.
