Details on Delta TA

So is Shiznet the NYC rep from a few years ago who led the charge in getting Roberts voted out? Then the NYC pilots voted him out. I have noticed that guy is in an ALPA. He seems like a good dude when I have talked to him, but lying even on the Internet is not cool.

I save my outrage for when it's deserved. Like what ALPA did to the TWA pilots. And for when ALPA tried to break the union of their own internal clerical workers. And when they backed the age 65 rule against the wishes of its members.
What do you save your outrage for PG?

ALPA pilots at the larger carriers already enjoy “mature, good contracts” already. And that radical overhauls aren’t in the cards.
or ALPA's support of allowing knives in the cabin!!!!
Delta was the first airline to come out against this ill-conceived idea. F/A unions were against it. CAPA was against it.
ALPA---for it! You just can't make this kind of stuff up folks. It would be funny if it weren't so downright scary that our NATIONAL union is that out of touch with reality!
What about ALPA's disastorous role in what has now become the Part 117 "rest" rules???

Sorry, but I disagree. I don't expect my rep to act as the puppet of the pilot group. I expect him to learn much more about the circumstances surrounding our careers and future prospects than I ever care to, and to use that knowledge to advance my career to the greatest extent possible and along the lines of my desires. To the extent that he does not meet my goals and/or expectations, I expect him either to adequately justify his actions or step aside.
That is the true essence of a representational democracy.

I predict we will see CDOs (Split-duty) in this next TA. The reason....ALPA is not a representational democracy.

I predict we will not, but if we do, I believe it will be because ALPA's survey showed a majority of pilots in favor.

I personally like the notion of indexing per diem to the layover city.

It certainly is true that int'l guys are fed pretty regularly while on duty, thus reducing the need for buying food during that time. That said, a meal in Paris or Rome is typically much more expensive than in Fargo or Birmingham.
