I have no idea what productivity concessions we will make.
What I do know and have been saying for years is Delta cannot handle the training required by having 9 fleets and 8 pilot bases coupled with massive retirements. They got away with it after the merger because of age 65 and no growth. What I know from doing years of ALPA work is there are only a small number of concessions choices. Many I listed. Many are coming our way. |

One rumor and a "fabrication" according to my rep. |

You also assured us they could not possible handle the current amount of training. They seem to have handled it fine and the training requirements are trending down. Hiring in fact has probably peaked and will be lower for the next few years. Crew resources has stated that the crunch was this summer. Hiring is expected to drop quite a bit the rest of the year.
They why would we consider even one concession that reduces our staffing?? Are you saying we will not making staffing concessions in C2015? You are not living on this planet. No one will be happier then I if you are correct and training and staffing are not a problem. Given our $6 billion dollar profit and very smart MEC their will be no need for concessions. In the Sailing dream world. |

Well. I wouldn't be surprised if the MD88s/90s, 757s, 744s*, 764s, 763s and 777s are parked in time. Well, obviously everything is parked in time. But then a fleet that consists only of 717RJs, 737s, A319/320/321/330/350s, 753s and CR9s on the outside.
At first I ignored the comments but then wondered how it might be advantageous for DAL to fly Airbuses to Europe where parts are readily available thus increasing DAL's reliability. Note, my comments are not meant to flame DAL about the cancelation. You are my carrier of choice and I think DAL is the best American carrier; your people are making a huge difference. I was reading this thread since FDX's contract success is also dependent on your contract success and I hope you guys the best. |

All of your statements were refuted in the flt ops weekly newsletter. |

It's interesting you say this. I was on a canceled 767-400ER flight yesterday on DAL out of Germany. Many of the HVCs seated around me were discussing how DAL could have quickly sourced a part had the aircraft been an Airbus since we were in Europe.

Thanks for your patronage. I hope the cognac and breadsticks are top shelf.;) |
