Serious question.
How did NWA handle IOE trips?

Per diem is also a no brainier for the insiders.

7/3/3/3 makes 8/6/3/3 seem like a win.

This is a red herring expectation lowerer. ( not a word, I know)

HISTORIC OR IT'S A NO

I think that is fair gzsg.

So what is historic? Because that's the definition you are driving a lot of others (especially newer people) to mythologize.

C2K rates...were good, we would agree. Yes?
C2K scope...baaaad. Very bad. Would we agree?
I'll answer for you. Yes. It was worse, but we would probably agree that our JV language could use some firming up. At least I think that.

So 'historic' is a bit of a misnomer. C2K came with big scope concessions. I don't want to exchange that for rates.

But if we have greater than C2K rates (w/o profit sharing factored in) and better scope in this TA: wouldn't that in and of itself be historic?

The quick answer is yes but....

...as we all know the devil is in the details. I'm not voting yea or nay until I see vacation/r&i/ profit sharing and sick leave policy. And minimum month. I like flying as little as possible.

Like I told my rep, I will look at the TA myself once it's released. In these economic times, the TA should sell itself and stand on it's own merit. If the union tries to hard sell me with catch phrases like TVM or it's the best we can do, or we'll get them next time, then I will seriously question the return I am getting on almost 2% of my pay.

Every time a contract comes up there seems to be some artificial reason that we have to get it done and get it done yesterday. IF this contract does to bring significant improvements to the Delta pilots then vote no and let's wind our watch.

If this board is a measure of that computing power, I would say we are about 600 brains short for that particular course of action.

Really? Because I know several. Recently.

Are those flight attendants still flying? I've never seen a single one in an airport that looked a day over 25, and the same friends above stated policy was they are done flying at 27.

The entire UAE is a country built on cheap immigrant/slave labor. It's only a matter of time until the same thing happens to EK cockpits.

The following is my opinion.

The gulf carriers will own the southeast asia/Africa traffic, that is a given due to their advantages. But barring rules changes here that will be it for U.S. traffic.

But with the gulf carriers it is all about geography. Geography has given them an advantage in connecting passengers to certain points.

But geography has also placed them in a very dangerous political spot. Saudi Arabia is in trouble. The problems in Yemen will not be contained and the jihadists are now striking in Saudi Arabia. IS now claims two states within Saudi Arabia. If Saudi Arabia has an arab spring event the gulf states are toast along with their mega hubs.

Total agree. 1/1/2016 AA gets another 3%, so that will put DL rates (on some a/c) >14% below AA less in than 180 days.

I've heard that same rumor. Which makes sense because the company would need us to be more efficient to operate yet another type of aircraft.
