How does your/living the dream's strategy get us a better contract? You want everything off the table from the get go. Nothing can be traded or bargained away for improvements. The only leverage remaining is "labor peace". I don't see this as a valid strategy for our pilot group.

I sure as HELL don't want a worse one, and that's what this one is shaping up to be. I would rather get parked than give up all the items being discussed.

I doubt it did any good, but I wrote all four of my reps with the qualifier of yes, it's rumor, but if it's anything like we're hearing they should vote a resounding NO.

I don't think it did any good though.

If this gets past the reps I'll be convinced it's a rigged system. And whatever faith I had in the system properly representing the pilot group that pays for its representation will be completely gone.

Do I think we can get something else besides ALPA? No. Again the system is rigged if this POS (allegedly) goes into effect.

DALPA, your reputation as an organization is on the line more than ever now. The NC and it's puppet masters put you in this position, and that's not entirely your fault. But it's up to you to fix the problem that's now in your lap.

Step up and do what's right.

Thanks for the info.

Can you show us the PS math of how the 15% hold back to 10% hold back (from $2.5B to $6.0B) equals 5.75% of our pay?

I don't know if my math is correct but I came up with $115.5 million with that giveback. Now that is just the pilot portion. The company is almost sure to do the same to the other employees so the amount we are facilitating is much higher than that

Is this another "rumor" you made up this morning to see how spooled up you could get everybody? Good grief Jerry.

I sure hope it's rumor and also hope you agree if this "rumor" is actually representative of this TA, it's a turd.

Talked to a rep from a different council than I am in, that it's looking like the TA will get sent back.

Based on what intel? Source it please, and Jerry doesn't count.

I think you need to understand the process better. The MEC authorized the NC to TA during the last special MEC meeting. The NC has not and is not going rogue. So there is no "stepping up". They have already done that. They can change their minds however. What does that do to the credibility of the MEC.

The horse is out of the barn. The MEC has to own this, whatever this is, and the only legitimate way to address it is through membership ratification.

Sure, so would a 3% payraise for 10 years. Good grief people. I hear all this noise about winding the watch, yet we haven]t seen anything and you guys are ready to hang the entire MEC. Good thing Sully didn't panic to this degree.

I just hope the MEC rented the big room for Tuesday's meeting.
This one is liable to set an attendance record.

Many on this board have set themselves up by having ridiculous and unrealistic expectations. Even if it is a good TA, it couldn't possibly be enough to satisfy many here. For example, someone just floated the rumor of pay raises that amounts to AMR + 2%, and we retain most of the PS. While one can debate the merit of that and the rest, it amounts to 21.5% compounded over 3 years. Know anyone in your neighborhood getting that deal? I certainly wouldn't be crying about it too loud.

That also would represent the top contract in the industry. Not good enough though. Really, nothing rational will meet the APC standard.
