FTB, you and I registered for that site within a day of each other. Just to give you an idea of what the turn around time should be, I got my confirmation about 6 days after applying.

I'll PM you the name of a guy who appears to be an admin there; maybe he can help you out.

Be warned--pretty contentious over there. I think they could use some FTB love.

Weird, I was "in" in only one day. Maybe they're afraid of FTB.

And yes, they could use some FTB help.

Here's a random thought:

The MEC is obviously divided on the merits of this agreement.
I hate to see our union go through this divisive exercise. We need unity.
There might be a way to get a 19-0 vote.

ALPA is always accused of mounting a "sales job".
Whether you agree or not, a lot of pilots perceive that as somehow unfair.
That sales ritual is the source of nearly all the acrimony and divisiveness.

One option would be to simply empower the rank and file:

Send it out without the MEC formally recommending a yes or no vote.
Let the line pilots read it and decide for themselves.

Individual ALPA officials can opine to their hearts content.
Just refrain from activating the "machine" this time.

Small "d" democracy. Writ large.

The fat lady has left the building

Well its done now. No walking this publicity campaign back. There would be too much explaining to do now. Turn up the heat on the voting reps. Nice touch.

I don't have a clue how many people read this board or if we are just urinating into a gale.

I also don't buy into knee jerk reactions if I can help it, but really, really, concessions? The company is printing money. Printing.

Health insurance covered.
401k filled up to ERISA max.
Profit sharing untouched.
A decent raise.
6 hr min day, each day.
Hotels for new hires.
Scope recaptured.

Those are items that would be included in the worlds best airline contract.

A decent raise.

seriously??? Decent raise??? Wow! Hope you are a minority.

Try about a 20% Raise Day one. 4% thereafter.
$350 an hour on 777 or No Vote.

That is strange. But the chitchat site is strange, too. A small number of unhinged wackos have hijacked all civilized discussion over there, making it really toxic. Every thread gets run over by the same five DPA guys. There are also some worrisome anonymous accounts over there.

I think that APC has a better chance of hosting an objective exchange of ideas.

Keep it about the issues, we still have to fly with each other.

I hope you're a no vote if the rumors are even close.

And the same 5 alpa-holics are right there to defend to the end. Its a 2 way street on the boards so your attempt to portray chitchat as a pro-dpa board is totally on sided.

So what's on chit chat? I too tried to sign up about a month ago, and nothing...

Rowdy320, I saw what you saw. To see it as one sided over there, well, I don't see how someone could walk away with the impression.
