Would you negotiate with someone who says we have a deal and then says, well not really, just kidding? More importantly would you reward that behavior by offering them a superior deal? Remember, the MEC gave the green light for the table position. Most importantly, can you show me an example where that tactic has worked in this business? What airline union has actually pulled that off?
It is not a "deal," it is a TENTATIVE agreement subject to MEC approval and member ratification.

767A was $193 in 1992 today it pays $226.
That's a $33/hr raise over 23 years. Or .69% annual raises. That was of course when retirement was guaranteed and medical was virtually cost free among a dozen other items we no longer have. I don't need to tell any of you how much inflation has risen during that same time.
Also C2K was valued at approx.. $2.1B I believe with 10,000 pilots. Delta took in around $14B in total revenue. Last year Delta took in $40.3B and our current contract is worth roughly $3B with 28% more pilots on the list today (12,800) AFTER a merger with a pilot group of 5,000 -7,000 pilots.
$2.1/14B = 15% of total revenue
$3/40.3B = 7.4% of total revenue for pilot costs
We are 1/2 of the relative cost to Delta right now compared to C2K and DAL makes more net profit in 2 months than it netted in one year back then.
Profit sharing while undeniably great does NOT equate to the pension we lost.
Vote as you choose. I HOPE this TA restores at least our pay from 11 years ago PLUS incremental increases along the way.
I will withhold judgment and comment until the actual TA is released.

Clowns like you are comparing this (rumored) deal to AA pay rates as some sort of achievement? Dude, AA had a bankrupt contract rammed down their throat, wait a minute, shoved up their arse worse than a Ned Beatty canoe trip and nobody had the balls to let Burt Reynolds dispense justice with a hunting bow.
I'm AA and am embarrassed for you.
Yes, I will call you Caitlyn from now on. You earned it.

So you're going to guarantee that another 2008 or 9/11 isn't going to happen in the next 3 years? Seriously? Or the current cycle that is going on 8 years isn't going to reverse. Wow!

You need to actually talk to your reps. I have and something did change in recent weeks. No one is happy about it. Wait until the TA comes out in a couple days and see if you can choke it down. We are not in BK but we are taking direction as if we were. Heck the FA's get 4:45 a day for their recurrent I thought we would have at least go that.

I'm also not well versed in what tactics have or haven't woked in the past, having been in the military and oblivious throughout the "lost decade". But I'll also say I never chose my military tactics for a new threat based solely on what tactics worked against a different threat in the past.
Show me a negotiating environment in the past that mirrors this one? If you anchor your expectations in the past (or try to get us to), you'll achieve an embarrassing and historically mediocre contract.

I will absolutely wait until I see the TA before hitting the panic button like many on here seem to have already done.

Of course, glamour shots and air brushing were really cool then too so now unless you're at Myrtle Beach both are out.

So I guess we should be paid less for not living in a time where you want to gouge your eyes out.
