MD11 and the rest of the frightened, why are you so afraid, my family has as most of us have endured 40% pay cuts and a stolen pension. When we retire it's now called quitting not retiring. Do you think concessions at the time of record profits is the answer???? Then run for ALPA national. I am sick of telling my kids, we have to wait for next pay day to go out for supper.

Yeah, when I was furloughed, I went and hung with all the Pu$$y's in the Navy for the next 11 years. But graveyard shifts can be fatiguing.

It's a shame to watch the great DAL turn ugly again. What I mean is that everyone looked at Anderson as a true leader and DAL was the great airline everyone wants to work for. And just like that, the threats start, spite the pilot's while spiting the whole airline really. DAL needs those new, and some used, aircraft. Those 80's and 90's are old.
Anyway, I am saddened by all this. It's just silly dirty airline nonsense that I thought Anderson/Delta were above it but it does not appear so.
I hope it all works out. It may be time for Anderson to go. He's done his job but now he's getting nutty nutt nutt nutt!

None of my business as an outsider but did find this thread interesting.....To MD11 the former Comair pilot- I feel for you man but no one in this world gives a sh!t about Comair...They were just a regional feed carrier and nothing more...
To the Delta Pilots....
I think you guys did a very good job trying to bring the company to its knees..Going forward, I hope you guys get atleast 2004 rates adjusted for inflation...Even WITH those inflation adjusted rates you are still behind the 2004 contract since there used to be a real pension before...If you don't bring top pay to $400 bucks an hour now with record profits, then you will certainly never see those rates in the future...Just remember, during these times the executives at Delta are raking in millions per year so for a senior captain to be making in the range of $360,000- $400,000 annually is really chum change in the big picture...U.S Airline Pilots should be the wealthiest pilots in the World, especially if you are flying for the Deltas,etc...Even if you guys get $400 bucks an hour as top pay, that will only put you in parity with pilots at the ME3 airlines who fly as check airmen on planes such as 777, A330, etc...since the ME3 salary is tax free unless your American....I would love to see pilots in America as part of the elite group as they should be and not viewed as bus drivers as they currently are viewed as...also, starting first year FO pay should be around $155,000 annually not a measly 70 bucks an hour...It takes a lot to become a Major Airline Pilot anywhere in the World so the bare minimum salary should respect that....Anyhow, good luck in your pursuits and do not settle for less...Literally, make them go bankrupt if they don't play fairly in negotiations..There are plenty of high paying jobs for everyone at the ME3..Good luck once again...

This candy ass was a dock worker in Northfield, Ohio during my college years. I was a member of Teamsters Local 407, Jackie Presser was our local President. Yeah, that Jackie Presser. I was 20 years old when we went on strike for 2 weeks in 1978. We secured pay increases from $7.81 an hour to $13.56 an hour with time and a half on Saturday, double on Sunday, and triple on holidays. How's that for a union? Full medical and retirement too. That was a picket line you did not cross, unless you wanted cement shoes. Some of the older heads were wanting to go shoot the independent truckers from highway overpasses. Luckily the cooler heads prevailed.

"Those orders will be cancelled. I told those pilots if they didn't accept their new contract that costs Delta an additional 1.1B, we would take the much longer slower route, and a new contract would not be any better. So since we are saving a Billion dollars, now we can't afford to buy the aircraft."
Think about it. I can't stop laughing.

That's exactly right, any regional pilots can make them a lot of money, where as, the mainline pilots could cost them a lot of money. This is the reason mainline has the pay it does in contrast to the outsourced work.
