Notes From ALPA PUB Event Yesterday 7/15

Reposted for emphasis. For God's sake, don't waste time with another survey. We said want we wanted. We said what we didn't want touched. It was obviously ignored.

Yes, they need to poll us again. When I filled out my original survey...
1) I wasn't factoring how little the company is willing to invest in the labor story.
2) The CEO hadn't committed to delivering a worse deal.
4) I also wasn't confused that my survey, which put end-to-end, was like a Christmas list, was not achievable in whole. I did prioritize items I wanted, and I think the results of this TA reflect the average priorities, just not enough of an overall value.
In addition, we've now called the company's bluff on the E190's. The only way I was able to justify a yes vote in light of 23.G.5 was the offset of Captain position at $200/hr. Since that's off the table, I want to give additional guidance. I want a voice in discussing the next deal, with the benefit of hindsight, not just refer back to a previous survey.
I ABSOLUTELY want to get polled again, and I'm sure that no-voters also want a chance to say how a deal could be crafted that will work.

Save the $$!
Scrap the entire thing and start over with our opener, with the understanding that we have "needs" also. If the company wants to fix their profit sharing and self-inflicted staffing problems, then bring the check book.
This is not the time for concessions and MD at the very least MUST leave. He lost all credibility as a leader during his rant in PTC.

Mike D,
If you are reading this website and you really and truly believe we cannot do better than the TA that was brought to us, then you need to step aside and allow someone who DOES believe that it can be done. This negative kind of thinking will lead to a self-fulfilling prophecy.

7. He bought up Social Media multiple times. I assure you he will read this post, as will many of the "others" will. Social Media has become a game changer in the ALPA process. I got the impression that MD believes Social Media miss-information killed the TA. All the Social Media outlets are being read by many people. In my opinion, Social Media will now forever play a major roll, one way or the other, in any future deal.
I think what is frustrating to MD and others about social media is that it made it impossible to hide the unsavory aspects of the TA, and MEC, from scrutiny.

Well.....seeing as we just saved the company $4B in aircraft orders, I guess there should be a little more $$ on the table to play with AND we won't have to staff an additional 50+ planes which means the productivity rules probably don't need to be "adjusted" so much. Who knew our solid "NO" vote would really help Richard get out of a jam.
Even a 10% increase in pay would only add $110 million to the "costing" figure of $1.1B that the DALPA circus....errrr....roadshow kept espousing. That is way less than the $4B we almost spent. 😂
(Disclaimer: The above post was a sarcastic commentary for those who take everything literally on these boards 😊
