It's not about insecurity. If you think it's that simple, then the guy with the oxygen deprived tiny brain is looking at you in the mirror. It's simply a productivity issue--getting paid for the work you do vs don't do. Perhaps a middle ground answer would be a hybrid system. Let the FOs drop the trips as they do now, but then they go to the bottom of the trip coverage list. Wouldn't that at least spread the wealth?(. . . although I am not sure the company would buy off as it does not address productivity that much).

Please show us the numbers!!

How many pilots actually disproportionately benefited from this policy???????

And define disproportionately.[/QUOTE]

1)Already accomplished in the Notepads and the road show handouts.

2) (Affected pilots personal pay/total pilot pay)/(Affected number of pilots/total pilots) How's that to start? A "balanced" system results in an answer of roughly "1." Disproportion takes place as the number strays from "1" in either direction. It would have to be refined by category to be more accurate, so it's just a spaghetti on the wall first response, and I'm sure I'll get torn apart for it.

That would kill a bunch of green slips. That is another reason why these changes would affect so many people

Why? It would just rearrange who was getting the greenslips. An FO staying at home and getting paid is a good deal. Why permit him a second good deal (GS) ahead of others? Look, I realize this solution has issues too, but unless you guys think management is just going to abandon everything they want and sign a blank check for us, then someone somewhere has to come up with solutions that will work for both sides.

Clearly you are a FPL alpa rep. Same story, you get your tighty whities all balled up when asked a question about 190 captain rates and just like Hillary, start playing dodge ball. You are not worth my keystrokes!!

Did you drop a trip for your time on APC?? Or just waiting for the "free beer" in ATL party to begin??

I am surprised I have to explain this but your way would add more guys to reserve. Greenslips happen when there are no more reserves. Your suggestion would have more people on reserve so less Greenslips. Does that make sense?

Rocky,

You realize your advocating for what many see as a major concession?

Let's not just give it away. Monetize it and then we can discuss it.

I agree. If you are taken off for OE, the trip you would have flown should count toward pickup limits just as if you were never taken off. So no WS/GS during the footprint of the original trip, and no WS/GS the next day if the block time from the original trip would have prevented you from getting it.

Same should apply to sick leave.
