It also makes it more difficult for sick people to call in sick. I have no doubt that if we give management a carte Blanche authorization to use any "designee" to determine whether we are sick or not and thus determine if we get paid or not for that sick time, some guys won't take the chance of calling in sick and will just show up to work. I don't want to work next to that guy. I don't want to get sick on a trip because of that.

I'd rather lose a little profit sharing and make sure everyone is happy and healthy when they show up to work.

Your arguments are weak Joe, and I hope you don't actually think that you have any chance of representing us.

Try a different route to a management job if you want one, cause this one ain't it. Sorry

Unfortunately, every day I'm feeling more convinced they are on the same side. I home ALPA national has done the math and figured out how much $50 Million a year is going to affect their yearly budget. The National union meetings are going to be moved from the Ft. Launderdale beach resorts to the La Quinta in Roanoke if they don't get it right this time. Then, after a satisfactory TA is delivered, these guys can continue to pursue National positions or Management jobs, anything with a pension.

The only people it will be harder for are the abusers. If you are sick, call in sick. If need be get verification and if the company questions that, your ALPA rep will be there to represent you.

Good grief So you are talking about data our banished MEC handed to us to prove the company's point during the shameful cram down/dues wasting road show to educate us on how fraudulent our fellow pilots are so we accept a consession filled TA? (Takes a deep breath from the run on sentence) PLEEEEEEEAAAAASE!

Dude. NA15 is dead. Stop pretending otherwise.

Are you one of Jim Graham's boys?

I'm done pretending you are relevant.

So I'm just a poolie but my buddy at SWA said that if you are sick you call skeds with your employee ID number and say I can't fly I'm sick. Done.

seems to me like this is pretty simple and the company can budget for all people to use 100%. Otherwise the enforcement starts to cost more than the payouts.

I think it's interesting that the "spin" on the sick leave verification has changed in the last few days. There appears to be an effort to keep the TA15 sick language in whatever new TA comes forward.

We seem to have moved from

- You're too lazy to get a Dr note

to

- How can support those who abuse the sick leave system. Just look at the data, it's real.

We need to find a system that will be acceptable to the pilot group. I would suggest it's a stop on the pathway to "yes".

The irony is that whole deal is right back to day 1 of the special MEC meeting that presented the TA. It didn't work then, and it won't work now. For people that think they are the brightest lights in the room, they sure behave as though they are the dimmest.

Fools will be fools.

Btw- the 190s have not been moved on and no cancellations of any 737 orders/options by DL have occurred.
