Great for them. Then what? They would squeeze us further and reduce PT time. See how that works?
On the surface your suggestion seems kind of good, until you project what they would do down the road.

When management suggests changes or needs, like the sick time deal, you have to try to look down the road at what they might want next. This is where I think they would go next. They would probably love to morph our time off into one bucket, like the majority of the working world. We would then get PT time. Personal time. If that is where they would go then the next step would be to put all together. Vacation and sick leave would be lumped together.

Now they want this?
Next contract....
Some people just don't see it.

Here is another thing. The OE carve out. Yeah, yeah. Dalpoids state that it would only affect some ridiculously low number like 2% of FOs. Everyone can see through that one. But remember, look down the road, especially with the massive training coming in several years.
What do you think CAs would think about these OE trips being pulled, and assigned to LCA, before we all could bid? Hmm. Methinks the CAs would not
be too happy. Divide and conquer.
When we had that crappy 23K it was amazing how many times I would have to stand for 23K duty for my BRU trips. I like BRU! Apparently so did LCA and the company.

This trend of gradual erosion must be stopped, especially when the company keeps taking a bite at the apple every three years. Trading away work rules for COLA is a fools game. 65% of us realized this before the vote was counted and the other 35% learned that the world won't end just because we vote "NO". The diminished fear of "NO" undoubtedly raised the bar required for a "YES". I hope the company and our negotiators are reminded of this daily.

And I sure hope you're right on that last point, Gunfighter.
