We seem to have moved from

- How can support those who abuse the sick leave system. Just look at the data, it's real.

We need to find a system that will be acceptable to the pilot group. I would suggest it's a stop on the pathway to "yes".
PEB!

Ferd,

You know what has really happened?

DALPA and the company have added 1/3 of the entire pilot group to the list of pilots that realizes the universe won't implode if you vote no.

When you remove the fear of a no vote (which I think exists) you now actually have to come back with something good or you get no again.

Because Curly, the concessions took that money right back out of your pocket.

We don't want that. That's why we agreed to the sick leave concession in C2012. The sick leave concessions in the failed TA were about making it easy for the company to abuse our sick leave

That's not true anymore. One of the sides got thrown out and replaced for that view however.

There were two pilots that didn't do that. Two. Both were terminated as was appropriate.

Two pilots.

Two.

Don't abuse sick leave, the Union can defend you and you can't be intimidated.
But you're fighting as hard as you can to implement the sick leave concessions of the failed TA that would have incentivized management to pressure you to fly sick.

You're all about pilots flying while sick...you're just fighting over who should provide the pressure to do so.

Exactly this!

I'm entrusted with thousands of lives and millions of dollars each year, yet need a note from mommy when I'm sick?!

Major fail DALPA... I will not entertain anything worse than what we currently have...

In fact, we should be pushing for our pre-bankruptcy 300hrs with no verification.

We are at the top of all performance metrics, making more money than at any time since the Wright Brothers, and there are Delta pilots wanting to make MAJOR CONCESSIONS in our contract?!

Maybe THEY need to call in sick!

More to the point...

This Joe yo yo is NOT a real candidate... he is flame bait to make the old guard candidates look more reasonable... classic political move.

In fact, don't be surprised to see him bow out at the nth hour before the vote.

If your Council 44 and you have any hope for RESTORATION, there is only one choice for your ticket...

Sam DeRosa
Scott Martin (0961094 write-in)
Jimmy Johnson
Chris Kern

The company is making more money than ever before dreamed of in the history of aviation...

We are no longer in bankruptcy!

There is ZERO need for CONCESSIONS!

The time for RESTORATION is NOW!

Furthermore we shouldn't have to talk to anyone when we are sick. It should be a simple entry into I crew.

Do you feel the same way about people releasing brakes early to get on the clock? Are they stealing from the pilot group and reducing your profit sharing ?

Exactly.

As I've said on here several times, I asked the P2P guys on the DALPA Facebook page and one of our really smart rumored P2P guy on here "who is going to be the 3rd party vendor" that was going to do the verifications? All that anyone could tell me was that it wasn't going to be Sedgwick. That's a big detail not worked out prior to putting the TA out for a vote.

So no, I can't prove a negative, but it seems Farmer Logic to believe the contractor bidding for the gig would have to show a plan for reducing sick leave. I would suggest it was going to be a paperwork war just to get paid for your sick call......after that, a lot of guys would fly sick just to avoid the hassle.
