The Market for Pilots
#21
Those same two years worth of resumes "on file" are also on file at AA, UAL, SWA, and FedEx. In two years when they have no applicants, they are going to come to us and look for JV scope relief because we won't have bodies to fly the domestic schedule and international schedule. It will become our problem to solve once again.
AA already has us beat as far as seniority progression. UAL beats us in widebody flying opportunies and career earnings...10 year 787 FO's over there are making more than our 20 year narrowbody captains right now. FedEx has a retirement. Coming to DAL guarantees you a 717 job in LGA, paying $3000 for a hotel during training, and another $1500 for a uniform.
Industry leading payrates, JV scope, newhire uniforms and hotels paid for might help.

Your whole first paragraph should be all caps.

If you guys cave on scope before your company bleeds the regionals, LCCs etc. dry of pilots then you get what you deserve.

That doesn't sound like a union problem. Sounds like the company is going to have to come to grips with the fact that they're not going to be able to get that perfect pilot anymore and they're going to have to start accepting mere mortals as new hires.

And, in my opinion, ALPA National will be working 24/7 to stab us in the back.
Turning the other way on lowering restricted ATP minimums.
Why? For the same reason Lee Moak said we have "good, mature contracts" because he was not coming back to FLY THE LINE.
Recall Canoll before he does irreparable damage.

There's a new contagion going around and its not Zika.

People need to realize we have the leverage and to play it to our advantage.

Allegiant....now UPS
Hopefully this helps Delta and SWA

UPS has a TA....and the pay scales look pretty good....and value is added to their pension. I'm not an expert on their wants and needs, but this TA was unanimously passed by their union leadership. It doesn't look like they get retro, but they do get a signing bonus.
