I heard that $4m was achieved in large part due to strategic (ab)use of sick leave...

Curiosity question.

Doesn't the training department have a 7 year max, then you gotta move on to something else somewhere? Same with CPO? Or am I wrong? Because he was Director of Flight Ops when I was hired 8.5 years ago. Is there no longevity clause for that position? Not a hit or anything, just wondering.

Where is that little sarcasm emoji when you need it!!?? It was sarcasm folks! For the life of me I can not understand why he is still allowed to have a line number... Here's a question for you>. Did he pay DALPA 2% of that $4,000,000.00 last year?? If not, I will repeat the question. Why is this management toady allowed to have a line number?????

Have you guys heard what management is pulling here at Southwest? As much as I'd love a killer contract for you all to leap frog I don't think that's happening for quite some time. Our TA1 was pitiful and the company came to the negotiation table with an offer less than TA1. It will be a long fight if we expect to get anything close to industry standard.

Time to push for self help...that's not good faith negotiating. Yes, I know it's not that easy, but you gotta put back somewhere.

No, it does not apply to them, but of course they were the ones saying it. When they do move on, they just rearrange the chairs....

That does not apply to "upper level" managers. They can hang around as long as they say yes to their bosses.

In our last meeting with management they told us they completely disagree with our expectations of the career value of a pilot at SWA. Our CEO says "thousands of pilots are lined up at the door to work here" so pay must not be an issue. IMO only the mediator can move us forward. We've been hoping you guys will lift us up, not vice versa!

Ditto. SWA is dragging it's feet like a ***** to church. SWA will likely finish the contract with the FAs first--and the FA union is going through a leadership crisis of 3 ring circus magnitude.

I hope the SWAPA platform gets pulled. It was tolerable as a quick revote on the failed TA, but since management is in no rush, let's get everything fixed. We need to start with a vote.
