Sadly, I think the SLI proved that you can't count on no votes for just about anything.

"Full retro" to me means taking this new contract (assuming it passes) and applying it as if it started on the amenable date of August 2012. THAT'S full retro. Not this 3/4/4% compounded and applied to what we made in 2013/2014/2015 respectively. The two numbers are drastically different and the agreed upon method of calculating retro does in fact reward the company for dragging out negotiations for four years, something "full retro" is supposed to punish them for (or at least make it cost neutral for them).

As to whether the former AT pilots get retro for the time they spent on that side of the partition, that's still being debated by the powers that be. I'm confident that they can't possibly be that stupid to try and slip a carve-out like that in there. Talk about royally pi$$ing off and insulting (once again) 1700 of your 8400 voting population.

So you're saying we should have been paid an additional 15% back in 2012? The market didn't even support that. The industry standard didn't support that either. Retro should be based on fair market value each year. You can't say that based on today's environment and the money we receive today should apply to a time 4 years ago when the market and industry were entirely different.

SWA pilots union raising the bar, congratulations. SWA 'in-house' union paying almost half the dues money vs. ALPA and receiving contract gains instead on concessions? DALPA are YOU listening? The Delta pilot ATM is now closed... DALPA grow a pair!

If you're going to label it "full retro" as has been already been done, then the entire agreement should be applied to the amendable date and retro calculated off of that. If not then it's not true "full retro".

I don't disagree with some of what you are saying but let's not label this as FULL retro.

The SWAPA deal looks like a substantial improvement on their last TA and the retro looks to be groundbreaking. Well done SWAPA.

But, what argument did SWAPA used to go from a 10% 401K match to eventually a 15% B-plan? What leverage did SWAPA use to get 737 pay rates that mimic United's? No concessions? We might want to wait to see the details of what interlining, code-sharing and revenue sharing is allowed in their new TA. Classic and well done pattern bargaining with a very financially strong and reliably profitable underlying airline enterprise.

Default A lesson for us...

One interesting thing I find about this deal is that the Lance Captain program will survive. It is a pretty sweet deal for the guys over there capable of holding it. The company wanted to eliminate the program pretty bad but in the end it stayed put. Maybe management really does not need to get everything on their wish list after all! Go figure!

It survives, but will be limited to one year before you have to upgrade to Captain. Overall it is more fair to everyone that way, but the current Lance's here are not going to be happy and I'm sure will vote no. Not enough to affect the outcome of the vote, but they will certainly try.
