In June I credited 137 trips and worked 18 days, but thankfully only spent 8 nights in a hotel because I am able to pickup a lot of one day trips out my home airport which is not a domicile.
In July I credited 104 trips and worked 11 days with 6 nights in a hotel. I also know a Captain who credited 355 trips in July and made $67k doing it, but the guy literally worked the entire month with his 30 off in 7 where it was required.
I do like that we have the flexibility to fly a lot and make more regardless of seniority or whether you live in base or not, but just realize the majority of our guys do fly more than 12 days a month. I think this is why Southwest guys have traditionally had much higher W2's in the past.

I show DAL with 68 wide bodies on order: 25 359s, 25 339s, and 18 788s.
Why would you include 757s in a wide body tally?

I'm sure that those trips make up about 90 percent of the domestic fleet trip packages, right? We have a lot of those in the 717 package...

I'm happy for SWA, they've been negotiating a long time. We could definitely use more efficient domestic trips but I didn't apply there and I don't want this to turn into that. International flying it's not hard to get 23 hour or more 3 day trips and be gone 48 hours. Just saw the email that negotiations are back on next week btw.

I have been watching the bantering back and forth on the wide body fleet etc. and I realize if your just looking at 777 I could see folks point on the small number of pilots likely to ever get to fly it, however I compiled the list of aircraft types and numbers comparing United to Delta and it doesn't seem to me that we are that far off when speaking in terms of large and/or wide body hulls. Including the 757's from both companies according to wiki...United has 286 wide body (including 757) aircraft while Delta has 283. United has orders for 33 additional wide body aircraft and we currently have 52 on the books. So it would seem to me that we have a fairly decent sized fleet and contract discussions amongst the wide body aircraft are certainly relevant. What am I missing?

This right here. Just had a jump seater. Former Air Tran living in Atlanta, commutes to HOU. He flies four 3 days a month. The 3 day he was about to work was worth 19:30. For his 12 days working, he averages 95 TFP's; that works out to about 109 hours of pay. Not bad for 12 days. I'd have to work 21 days on the 717 to earn that. The usual suspects are making this TA out to be not that big a deal. When you put more money on top of arguably some of the best work rules in the industry, it's a big deal. The company funded B plan is nice as well. Meanwhile, back here, we're trying to figure out how far backwards we need to take our work rules to get industry standard pay...sigh.

What did the 757 pay at NWA before the merger? What did it pay after?
