BTW, Scoop,
I think we agree on more than you think. I don't like the AIP's much. In particular, I dislike the VB/TDY provisions. It sure feels like our own AIP's are more concessionary than what we read in this thread, but that may simply be because we're taking a much closer look at our own contract.
I'm not a fan of the process that got us to where we are now, but I think I'm being realistic about our options considering the confines we're working under, including the industry, and NMB.
I think what we're doing is aimed at getting us the highest total compensation by a decent margin, while having an overall contract that's at the top, but probably no better. At the end of the day, we'll make more money, and still probably be no more productive than any of the others (purely a guess on my part).
So we're not putting as many eggs in the QOL basket as some of us might like, but I think the average guy, for better or worse, looks at W-2 vs. relative to their friends in their guard unit, or on the golf course. There, I think we'll be up by a respectable amount, assuming we don't completely fail to reach a deal.

I completely agree you guys have stuff we would love to see in our contract. (SL, DB on PS, etc) but for someone to say NOBODY ever gets gains without concessions is BS. We just did. Ours is nowhere near perfect. But I remember your MEC saying thank you to us for raising the bar and helping your position.

Okay, so we are not supposed to compare ourselves to UAL, FedEx, UPS, American or Southwest... or Allegiant.
okay. I guess for #I'mwithMoakies that makes sense. Because TA2015 was what we should have done because it was the greatest contract ever, even though evidently it wasn't even so at that time.
But there was a recommendation made to let the pilots vote on it and let it either pass or use a no vote as leverage.

1 CA and 1 FO and 2 IRO's has been the way for the 21 yrs I've been at UAL. So somehow we gave a concession keeping it? I thought a concession was giving up something? (Pretty sure we still have more than triple the number of pilots at top rate btw)

When we have better language then group x, we are told to give some of it up. When we have worse language than group x, we are told we cant have what they have because stuff. We are told we can't have nice stuff because group x doesn't have nice stuff, but when group x gets nice stuff we are told we can't compare ourselves to group x.
Basically, they want us behind everyone else. They think that gives us an advantage. or its just good old fashioned butthurt.
