as far as training, you do your indoc and general subjects training at home. That takes usually 2 weeks. Then you will come to MSP for in person systems training as well as all of your sims.

ATL 900 and MSP 900 are both senior, but they both went to November 2021 new hires on the latest initial. As always, YMMV.

New hire here with a summer class date. Can someone help me understand the first few weeks of training a little better? I understand the first two weeks are at home. Is it online classes or self-paced learning? Then to MSP for systems, etc. How long does that phase last?
Thanks!
Thanks!

You will show up the Monday of week 3 and do a couple review days on general subjects, then you will start systems mid-week. Systems runs the remainder of week 3 and also week 4 with the test on the following Monday. From there you will do your PTs and sims. You will learn more about the scheduling for these later, it can vary a bit.
Edit: your general subjects test will be in person, and those couple days of review beforehand will help out a lot. The indoc and gensubs tests were really easy compared to the amount of content they give you.

The first 2 weeks you will be doing "LMS" (learning management system) modules and it is self-paced studying. You will be given a few documents including a workbook to fill out as you go along. Your indoc and general subjects will be done at home through the LMS. The first couple days you will have online meetings at 0800 central to go through basic company stuff and do a meet and greet. You may have a review session or two as well on a conference call with an instructor.

per our most recent vacancy, it is technically correct that any base is obtainable for a new hire, but in actuality it depends on your in class seniority as well as the equipment you are assigned. NYC and CVG are available on the 900, and MSP, DTW, and ATL are available on the 200. Problem is, you don’t get to bid for the equipment. Only the base. And there are only a handful of actual openings available outside of NYC900 (there is no NYC200 anymore). That said, you are almost guaranteed to get NYC900 as your base. And once you get 900, the odds of getting to ATL or MSP anytime in the next 18months (seat locked to the 900) are very low. Those are the most senior bases on the 900.

Once you do the phone interview, assuming it goes well, they scheduled the in-person tech/HR interview on the phone for 2 weeks later in MSP.
My ATP/CTP date is mid August and my indoc date is September.

I have a class date in June and am probably going to the 900. I live in Atlanta and am hoping to get assigned here, but obviously you never know how things will turn out. Assuming I go to the 900 and get either NYC or CVG is the commute from Atlanta going to be painful? Also, on average what are people paying per month for a crashpad? I did a search on the crash pads but didn't see a ballpark figure in the results.
