This is likely intended to be a threat (head-on-a-pike style) to the other DCI carriers to make sure they know 9E is capable of taking their planes if they don’t play ball with mainline.

edit: where the “threat” refers to adding the 175s to the Endeavor certificate.

ok, actually, we already technically have 1 ERJ170, but it will be the only one for the foreseeable future. Only way we actually get them is if YX shuts the doors or is so obscenely expensive that DL doesn’t give them a contract again. Either way, there is no way 9E is in a position to add the 175s. We simply can’t staff them. Same reason we got rid of the 200.
This aged well

What, putting the old clapped out Compass tails that Delta already owns? 9E can gladly have them.....

To say this is a threat is laughable at the very least.

No legacy is really in a position to just can one of their regional partners. Taking away planes from Republic would actually benefit AA and United as they'd be able to provide more lift and directly Delta would lose regional lift as Endeavor doesn't have enough staffing to take on anymore flying.

Endeavor has old 700's as well as some pretty old Comair 900's they could park to make room for the E-jet. And they do try to balance fleets between DC carriers. It's pretty hard to figure out what Delta can and can't do in regards to their regional lift. And also, doesn't Delta have a pretty large steak in Republic?
