This is kind of funny. You say get out of the whipsaw but yet you want them to make a lateral move. Hmm I am pretty sure that is part of all this whipsaw stuff. People giveing up 7 years to start at 1 year because they can get a faster upgrade. So what do you think the majors will keep doing. Oh yea thats right why not just keep shuffling planes around so the pilots chase them. We do not know what will happen at any of these airlines. All we do know is that things change and they can change fast. Some will be for the better some will be for the worse. The ones that are all about being negative about Endeavor you are quick to see the positive changes at your new airline but you can not accept the positive that has happened here now. Is it great no, is there still a lot of risk here yes. But is there risk when you make a lateral move?

Huge risk moving laterally potentially....one has to ask themselves..."as I get close to upgrade, who is going to be my FO?" especially when potentially new FOs think they may have missed the quick upgrade. It'll happen...just watch and then movement at these 'growth regionals' will come to a grinding halt and some get stuck as FOs....AGAIN. Some will get lucky...others will not.

I'm going to have to disagree, FOs were absolutely sold out, multiple times. This latest TA was all about FO retention, why then are captains getting a single dime? If we want equality for all pilots (like the Union claimed they are doing with this TA) then let's move to an 8 year cap for FOs and captains. Why are we spreading the wealth out equally with this bonus but the pay caps are slanted so heavily toward captains? Let's split up the bonus the same way the pay caps are set up.

I really have no idea what the plans for 9E are, or will be. I do know that living 5 minutes from my base, and near family works well for me. If they give me a retention bonus, fine. If they give me an interview at DL and I get hired, great. If they furlough me, I'll look for another job. Going to another regional for "the quick upgrade time" is only worth it if something else about the switch is also good. For instance, you are from XYZ and that is also the junior base at the new company. Then you have some contingency in your plan. So basically I think that most of us are doing the right thing: going to other regionals where the situation is good for them and maybe a quick upgrade... or staying at 9E if the situation is good (for a few like me) and maybe an upgrade (if all their desperate measures work).
