When you aren't using it, turn it off. Been flying with the iPad since the test began and have never gotten below 30%, even on a 6 leg day. I don't use it for other things during the day to get that life, but they have 8+hr screen on time batteries. If you are running it down it's because you are sitting at cruise with the screen on.
