If you have an A20 already, it'll work fine. Even quieter than what you are likely currently flying.

If you are buying a headset, I would recommend the 850. When I got hired I sold my Bose and got the telex 850 plus cash left over for other work stuff when starting in 121.

Having some version of ANR is definitely nice for comfort and the idea of saving the hearing over time. Worth the $$.

Oh I get that. My comment was more referencing the fact scheduling told a reserve that GoJet 'crapped the bed' which is more a short term meltdown, similar to our Aerodata transition of yesteryear, that he was close to being called up to help cover it semms. When I started my last trip on the 4th this month the entire morning bank of GoJet flights in JFK were cancelled. No disputing though that over the year we have had to cover multitudes of other flights for staffing issues at other carriers.

I've got over 10,000hrs on my Bose X's flying freight in twin pistons and turbo props, they're still going. I think I've gotten my money out of my Bose.

Indeed you have, and good on you! I have other Bose products, and love them. Just took advice from a sage fella who had "been there, got the T-shirt", if you will, and went with LS. I will say, however, that LS has terrible passive attenuation compared to DCs.

That's interesting. Everyone I know with lightspeeds has had problems. They've all had great experience with customer service, but still a pain. I'm not a fan of most of what Bose makes, but their headsets are top notch.

The books say "TSO'd" for a headset, but numerous folks use the QC15's with UFM without problems. Honestly not sure if the headset is TSO approved or not, but folks are using them.

I use them and love them. They are not TSO approved, but honestly have never had a problem with them. When the battery starts going dead it'll start clicking a little and then I change it out. Seriously only takes about 15 seconds

They are not fun for the guy flying with you tho. The mic is horrible and you can't hear the guy. Also at transmissions are very week. I would stay away from them.

I've never had that issue with anyone I've flown with that used the QC15
