It’s because of that pesky thing called scope. As mainline aircraft are drawn down, the active in-service RJs have to go down to keep the ratios in compliance.

Also, far more cargo can be moved with mainline jets.

The union does not need to be going after flow in exchange for concessions. A flow will never happen. This is the time for the union to really shine by holding the line, and not accepting any concessions. The company is 100% unethical with asking for concessions, given the fact they received federal aid. The union needs to protect our wages and our jobs, not negotiate for flow. Anyone that thinks any differently is a fool. Imagine the union gets a flow, with the stipulation of a flow back. I'll laugh as the majority of our pilot group hits the streets. I'll be okay though, I have a plan B C and D.

Can you point to a time in history where a workgroup gave concessions to keep a company out of bankruptcy, and it worked?

Being owned by Delta, who declares Endeavor bankrupt? Delta?

--- what has happened so far
Company: "we're gonna offer unlimited TOWOPs."
MEC: "well, sure, you can do that."
Company: "what about reducing MMG to X?"
MEC: "meh, what about career progression?"
Company: "nah"
--- what will probably happen next
Company: "so how about MMG at Y?"
MEC: "what about Z?"

...and it will continue. The MEC has a valid point that anything negotiated downward just becomes the ceiling in a bankruptcy. The Company has a valid point that severely negative cash flow sucks. The odds that both sides suddenly stop talking are low.

Remember that NJ is in charge now, not JJ. If JJ was still in charge, then I'd be legit concerned about a Comair scenario. JJ was a bridge burner.

NJ is smarter than that. He's a negotiator. He's already smoothed over some of the feathers that JJ ruffled at Delta. Give him time... and call into that all call.

JJ was dangerous, and not in a good way. He would for sure get us all Comaired if he was still on the MEC. Before careful who you vote for, folks.

Interesting that everything seems to be negotiable "during these trying times" except scope? Again, aside from the politics, can anyone say that CRJs would NOT meet current demands most efficiently? Delta seems to be spending money flying larger jets for no good reason when they are willing to negotiate everybody's pay cuts already but won't even consider using the best jets for the current environment...

As far as the MEC I appreciate them trying to stick to their guns. However, we clearly have a new issue that needs to be addressed while a prior one will not see the light of day for quite some time.

Protect our jobs
Protect our pay
Don’t you see, this is what they are trying to do. As long as we are Endeavor our jobs will always be at risk, our pay will always be at risk and our quality of life will always be at risk. The only way we can be assured protection or at the very least have the protection of DALPA is to join the “Team”. For years we’ve been contributing to the profits of Delta without getting profit sharing returns. Now we are being ask to take pay cuts to help support the mother ship. I mean come on now. If you want our support let us board that ship.
