The 1000 hours of 9E time is a company requirement and can be waived, when there aren't adequate bidders to fill all the seats. Which, I assume is what happened here. Because there is a very, very slim chance that a March 2015 hire has 1000 hours with the company at this point, as they would likely have only been on the line right at 12 months at this point.

I'm feb 15 and just shy of 700 right now. I think the company minimum is more wishful thinking than anything else right now.

It can be waived. In his case he was a previous CA here who left and came back. When rehired you keep your longevity but seniority resets. He's got thousands of hours at this company.

Ahh but he will sit reserve for a much longer time but I guess it's all relative.

And that's why I also bid JFK 200 CA...chatter is no one wants it. My hope is reserve may be non-existent for me...or at least very short as the base opens up and schedule hiccups are addressed.

Wow, that's quite the change from years before. Congrats to everyone at Endeavor.

I don't even think the most optimistic of us at 9E thought it'd go this way Shy. This presents a new problem, we ARE going to quickly run out of captain candidates. So many FOs are bypassing because they have CJOs. Personally, I wouldn't look at that March 2015 guy as a good indicator for the most junior CA since he was a return to work with tons of 121 time. That'd be misleading to tell new hires with 121 experience as they'd think they could upgrade in just over a year.

If we elect to have a alternate deadhead at the end of a trip, do we still receive credit for the deadhead?

From my experience you get credit for the originally scheduled deadhead.
