That's my holdback. Also, if an FO chooses to upgrade, he/she will be subject to an additional 6 months withholding to Delta to serve as a captain at 9E for those 6 months. I just upgraded myself, but with 18 months already to wait the 6 month holdback for upgrade won't really matter. With the DGI you have already served time as a Captain for 9E so you interview, you will get the earliest available class date as I understand it.

The 24 month captain requirement under the DGI hasn't even begun for one single pilot on the seniority list yet. We are down to around 200 CJO holders at 9E and Delta is taking 17 a month now and for the foreseeable future. So yes, the quick upgrade here has about 6 months left considering they upgrade in to the future to cover these folks that are leaving.

That's assuming no new airplanes. If, and only if, more airplanes were to join the fleet, the upgrade would continue to be quick. As to if that happens, nobody has the answer to that.

It sounds like management is aware of the current pilot hiring environment and know what pilots want. I wouldn't go fretting as if the sky is falling. I believe I read somewhere about 20 more 200s coming out of the desert next year...but it would take me a while to find that, and I don't have time now.

They still need to staff NYC. The 200 bases are nowhere near where they should be. Most of the trips I have flown out of DTW have taken me to JFK or LGA turns for most of the trip.

Bid away from it. I think you're senior to me on the 200FO side, and for the second month (August and September) in a row I managed a schedule that doesn't touch JFK and LGA, managed more than min days off and good credit to go with it. I thought I heard the plan was a total of 15 crews at LGA and 25 at JFK. If that's what it is, we aren't far from that already, once everyone finishes training

I don't know where some of you guys are getting your information from.

Here are some actual facts. As of the latest information given to us on July 15 there were 238 pilots with CJO's after the 16 were sent to Delta in July. We are sending 16 a month to Delta for the remainder of the year. That is 5 months of 16 pilots which is 80.

That leaves 158 for next year where we are due to send 180. Since that update was posted in July we have had dozens of pilots who have attained CJO's which will fill up all of 2017's remaining slots.

Any yet remaining CJO holders or subsequent successful interviewers will push us into 2018 with guaranteed movement.

I am most definitely not senior to you. I hold a reserve line for September. I've just been swapping/dropping reserve days for trips.

Ah ok, I've got you confused for someone else then. But the point remains the same, I'm not that senior and won't touch JFK/LGA for 2 months

Trips on DTW 200 at least usually seem to be built around a single hub/focus city. I do trips where all I see is New York, trips with nothing but CVG turns, DTW turns, or like the one I'm on now; RDU turns.
