And you know it...

All Shy and I are trying to do is make sure no one gets sucked into the abyss that is 9E. That's all.

When is the next vacancy coming out and how many upgrades will their be? I was hired in late summer of '07. I've seen the initial award, if I had stayed, I would still be around 50 away from getting a upgrade. With the majority of the movement coming up to Delta, being first officers. I guess the movement everyone is talking about, is the movement of new hires to being line holding first officers.

I think the next vacancy is anticipated between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Will be quite large again. Most likely 60-90 upgrades.

What does the future movement look like for a new hire here, let's say in the next six to eight weeks? Do you foresee the dreaded 8 year f/o continuing? I have been leaning towards e9 due to the fact they are wholly owned and I would love to fly for Delta one day. additionally I am also worried about the potential collapses of other regionals or other turmoil due to staffing issues going down the road, any input would be appreciated!

You just rang the dinner bell for Alaska. I'm sure he's typing his wholly owned paranoia as we speak!

I left in May, and I know things were turning around when I left. There was talks of bringing back some 200's and my sim parter from 2006, was awarded Captain again. If you were to ask me this question last year. I would say to stay away. Now, I can see the upgrade time dropping and movement once again. If you live in MSP, DTW, or the New York area I would say take the offer if Endeavor gives it to you.

Delta just broke a "promise" and more CJOs will be delayed, slowing upgrades and upward movement a little bit. Being wholy-owned as a regional by Delta sucks, it shouldn't be seen as a positive.

If you would; elaborate for me here, keep in mind I still have my regional flying cherry. All I hear from people in the industry is how the staffing shortage is causing regionals to leach or steal from others. So at one point here they are suggesting a ramping down of the number of regional carriers. So, with intuitive thinking, it leads me to believe that wholly owned carriers would have the edge here in terms of stability. How many Delta new hires are coming from 9e versus street hires; so to speak?

As I read the memo posted on another site, the SSP said 144 OR 30% of new hires, whichever is less.

The 131 will be 30% of Delta's new hires for 2015. No broken promises, it just means 13 pilots will move over 4-6 weeks later than expected.

It's all in how you interpret things - you glazed over the part that said 9E will offer close to 350 Captain Upgrades in 2016 - 29+ per month! Why not talk about that?
