You’re a mentor but don’t even know our CEO’s name?

It's cool.

Some of our recruiters can't even hold a conversation in uniform even with their lanyard flaring. Guess some people just want to pad their resumes...

He's saying mentors are empty shirts trying to advance their career by looking like a resource to their fellow pilots without putting any work in.

Ok, sure haha I guess. Not sure why he mentioned recruiters in his post. I will say, I have had very little measurable interaction with mentors, and that it has largely been unimpressive. I've talked to FO's with questions who don't bother calling their mentor because they know the person won't know the answer. But I've also heard they can get pretty overloaded. Doesn't sound like the program has been all that successful. But who knows.

The program was supposed to be a union thing but the company was dead set that mentors had to wear hats and tell new hires to wear hats or they wouldnt fund it.

It turned into one pilot telling everyone to wear their hat. Pretty embarassing, especially when the new hires found out they didnt even have to buy the hat.

I didn't get contacted by my mentor until I was already done with OE. Thanks, I've pretty much got it at this point!

Program died once the company took over. I did it when it was union based and it was a very integral part for new hires.

I didn't know that the company took it over. I remember when it was new and thought, "wow this is cool" but that's really a shame to hear. Why did the company take it over
