You think kids who went to ERAU or UND have a better shot at a major interview than anyone else?

Alumni connections and the resulting internal recommendations probably do give a bit of a leg up.

Very often? More like 95% of the time lol. I can only speak for one company but I can tell you that going to a certain flight school changes absolutely nothing in the selection process. The vast majority of people conducting the hiring process are military/the vast majority of people hired ots are mil. Maybe you guys know about hiring at a company that's not AA?

All the more that shows he is too immature to be a captain.

Most companies, pre-covid, were deliberately try to strike a balance between mil and civ. Mil guys were getting harder to find, and I guess they didn't want a rep for "hires only fighter pilots" which would discourage qualified civilians from applying. I certainly prioritized my app updating based on know hiring practices.

AA knows they're getting a lot of civ via flow, so they're apparently trying to maintain a cultural balance by hiring mostly mil OTS.

Thats fair, but I still don’t think going to embryo riddle is gonna get you a class date anywhere...

Historically, and generally I would agree but DL at least was starting to show a slight preference for aviation university grads, or at least giving them bonus points in app scoring.

No indication that applies anywhere else, and I would not attend a brand-name aviation university just to get possible preference, or the R-ATP... there are much cheaper ways to do that. If money is no option, sure why, not do a package deal. Although if it were me I'd look somewhere other than Prescott... I drove through on a camping trip and it didn't like there were any coeds in sight.

I think we’re going to see a big change in the flight training landscape. Far fewer mom and pop shops and more part 141 schools. That said, still could be a part 141 school at a small local airport. If I were to do it again, and with the 1500 hour rule, I’d look in that direction.

Just saw “embryo riddle”, thanks iPhone. I kinda like it
