As far as I know they are still FORCED at 950 hrs, which is pretty quick...

I see the Near DEC bonuses advertised, any idea if people are doing this still?

So if someone came in with plenty of 121 time, would they get captain very quickly?

Yes. They would also get u to sit reserve for 3.5+ years very quickly

Yes. You would be awarded CA as soon as the next vacancy was posted. They typically run bids every 3 months. They're also offering extra money for the next couple of months:

Enhanced bonuses, of up to $55,000, are available now through November 18th for pilots with 900+ qualifying 121 time. These enhanced bonuses are designed to attract the very best pilots to our team and assist them with transitioning to Envoy and American Airlines.

$37,000 On day one

$10,000 Upon completion of IOE

$8,000 At the end of probation (1 year)

$55,000 Total

With that new quasi Direct Entry Captain program they are offering I highly doubt they will be holding off on a vacancy bid. This new program is indicative of them being short on captains.
