If you get a 4-day you don't want on reserve, trust me, there will be a senior pilot who will gladly take it from you. CS cannot deny it if the senior guy is legal for it and has the same (or fewer) days left.
I don't know what your definition of "way too often" is, every single time I had RAP2 on my last day, I was released before 6pm. The RAP flips don't happen as often as you claim (which is why the RAPs would suddenly be released at 5pm).
The mid-day rest is a problem, it never happened to me, but that really needs to be fixed.
The whole example you have is stupid. If you have such limited commuting options to our bases, why the heck would you ever even consider working here? Go somewhere with an easier commute.
If your last flight is at 430 or whatever, chances are you won't have two flights in the morning either, so it wouldn't be a legal commute to any regional.

My “stupid” example went right over your head because you don’t have to commute. Like I said you have no clue. The last flight may be late but the second to last flight may be at 6:00 and you live an hour from the airport.
Again you don’t even understand that a pilot on RAP2 with a next day reserve assignment of any standby assignment or flight assignment is released at 5/ when ever they confirm their assignment. The RAP2 flipped to RAP1 is released at 6 pm (typically). You seriously have no idea the points I was making.

I've never said everyone hired today will have a good experience. Please stop putting words in my mouth.
You guys also are totally detached from the fact, that some new hires are enjoying this job, and Envoy is a great fit for them.
This "Envoy's contract with AAG that involves last pick of the scraps" is another fake news "fact" people repeat here. I can't help you if you believe that AAG just posts a bunch of flights available for grabs, and regionals pick them up in some preassigned order, like a pro sports draft.
I'm sure Vasu etc keep saying "oh crap, Skywest took that route, now we can only sell 70 seats on that route".
Is that why we got a good bunch of the super productive daytrip lines for June? Some of them from Mesa. I'm sure the senior guys who can hold them aren't complaining about 18-19 days off and 90+ hours of credit, and home every night.
They are also great picks off P2P (plenty of them available). Not bad to go to work for a turn and credit close to 7-8 hours.

Ok just looking at the reserve list for tonight and the TOP five or six guys end their last day of reserve at 1900 or later. A few were past 2100 and one was past 2200. The two junior guys got lucky with an R1 that finished early.

Last few pages are full of win from dera.
Months of S1 without bidding for it - I know at least one former crj plug who would have a thing or two to say about that.
Released early on the last day - happens. Opposite happens about just as often.
Getting screwed out of commute when doing S1 on the last day - oh yeah, that 2pm or whatever release is far from guaranteed.
JM - it's raining JM on the CRJ side, CA and FO. But we don't talk about the CRJ, that's like a whole another airline.
Ditto to what P4P said about the 5pm release when next day assignments are confirmed and 6pm when rap swap.
Big point being, we are ****ed because this place has all the potential to be awesome, and it chose to ignore that.

So to summarize the negatives, we have:
Low pay
Lack of duty rig
145 schedules are inefficient and suck, which makes it difficult to break guarantee because see above
145 reserve times suck
Airport standby
And I’ll add: flow not guaranteed for new hires, to appease those waiting in the wings with their tinfoil hats and FUPM foam fingers.
What else do you want people to know?
Also, I’d be 145. Not a cadet, no prior 121, and I’m not that old. So no 175 for me.

You will also take all day in between flights changing planes. I've been on the 3rd page of the daily log book multiple times, meaning I was on the 9th different crew on that airplane in a day.
Dera made mention of some great lines on the 175. What he didn't mention was that there were about 30 of those great lines out of about 150, which will only go to the 30 lifer CAs and 30 FOs who will enjoy that QOL for maybe 2 months before going to upgrade. The rest were the Envoy standard.
Reserve is a reality at Envoy that is difficult to explain. We have a about 650 lines, so 1300 line holders between CAs and FOs, and about 2500 pilots on property. You will do time on reserve, if you don't do it as an FO, you will probably do it as a CA.
It is the little annoyances that really add up at Envoy. Other airline have mechanisms for building your schedule to match your QOL. Are you a commuter who wants to do 6 on 1 off 6 on, and have most of your reserve time done in two weeks? Not going to happen here. Don't care about the rest of your month, but really want two specific days off, sorry, no reserve lines have that built in. You want to swap your reserve days, sorry "denied due to staffing". You put in a request on the 4th to change your reserve day on the 10th to a day off... well, don't expect a response until the 9th, then it will be denied. It's the Envoy way.
Proffering for reserve on a daily basis is another headache, but don't you dare forget to do it, or 6am standby is in your future. It is just another annoyance that on your day off, you need to log in sometime between 10am and 2pm to put in your bid. Then log in again after 5pm to see what you were awarded. Doesn't sound like much, but after you have been doing it a few months, it gets old.

Thankfully any lineholder can trip trade to much better trips during the trip trade window. I, and most others I know who are somewhat junior, don't have a single trip left after their original line award.
I decided to get more credit, and a week off. No problems doing that.

No I didn't forget to mention that. I said they were for senior guys - and I wish there were 30 of them, too bad you clearly don't know how the company works.
