No I didn't forget to mention that. I said they were for senior guys - and I wish there were 30 of them, too bad you clearly don't know how the company works.
Thankfully any lineholder can trip trade to much better trips during the trip trade window. I, and most others I know who are somewhat junior, don't have a single trip left after their original line award.
I decided to get more credit, and a week off. No problems doing that.

The month before I was able to make a few extra hours and shift days to have a five day block off, but no extra days off and no actual OT available that month either.

Gotta call BS. Certainly may happen, but not always doable. The last month before I upgraded, was about 75-80 percent on DFL, I was able to trade NOTHING and pickup NOTHING in OT. EVERYTHING on my schedule was redder than anything available and there were only scraps of OT, none of which I could pickup.

DFE, some months are better than others. But I traded 3 of my 4 trips this month for a pickup of about 15 and filled the rest with OT.
However, red/redder is infuriating.

Just to expand on your points. The 145 schedules are inefficient and suck. By suck we mean there are a boatload of 145 flights that are in the air for about 30 minutes. So, not only are you not getting paid for not breaking guarantee, you are also not building much time for upgrade or your resume should you decide to go elsewhere.

Some of them avoid flying as much as possible, but it is easier to do when there isn't that much flying to begin with.

N4TL, it won't even show red/redder trips. In June every trip I had had 5+ legal trades. Could trade up, or down, and move days with some flexibility. Obviously nothing like SAP at PSA, but it gives you some leeway.
