If you want to stop people from coming, which would likely inspire the changes you actually want, speak. If not, continue to call people names and then wonder why no one takes you seriously.
The thing with the 145 is it isn't a growing fleet, so the only movement you will see are people moving out above you. Whereas the 175 gets that movement and also the movement that a growing fleet brings. What this means is you will be subject to longer reserve stints and all the chaos that brings. If you live in base it is bearable, but as a commuter you will likely have to commute in the day prior to your reserve sequences starting on multiple occasions and potentially end too late on your last day to make it home. so you can lose a lot of time at home which is at a premium with only 11 days off a month.

depending on what base you want reserve could be even longer for instance dfw is senior so those FOs who after spending 6 months on reserve in ORD and getting the transfer to DFW have to then again sit reserve for 6 months. I'm not sure on the actual numbers it is just an example of what I am talking about.

Reserve just brings headaches and frustration and that is what you get if your aren't lucky enough to get the 175. I don't even want to think about what would happen to an unlucky person if Envoy decides we suddenly need more CRJ pilots.

CRJ could be a tactical new hire bid right now. You'd be on reserve until they go away, and then might get displaced to the 175.

Btw this is a great way to put a HUGE black mark on your resume for the rest of your career.

Nothing says "resignation in lieu of termination" more than a sub-12 month stint at a regional.

Thanks, that’s a very good point.

How does the process for transferring bases work?

If an unlucky sod did get the CRJ, what does the displacement process look like once that winds down?

Not to mention they want their full bonus amount back, not just the amount you got after taxes. So that’d mean paying like $10k out of pocket, and that’s not a good prize either.

Anyone intending to do this shouldn’t take any money from them. And to your point, I don’t know why anyone would want to do this.

There's been a vacancy every 3 months recently. The company Says how many spots are available in each base fleet and seat. You put a bid for whichever you want and if you are senior enough and a position was made available by the company you are awarded the transfer. Here as an FO you can only bid to a different base not different equipment. Once it's awarded you are supposed to transfer within 60 days, but the company can withold longer if they need people in your current seat they have to give you tdy protections if they do (per diem, hotels).

As far as displacement. If you get displaced you can displace to whereever your seniority holds doesn't matter equipment. Base or seat. So Dera was referring to you'd be able to displace to 175 if you wanted.

Setup a payment plan you'd get the rest back in taxes when you file the corrected w2 or whatever.

You seem like you're used to being served and catered to and take it personally when you're told no. I'm really not trying to be mean here, but that attitude won't make you popular on the line here. Or anywhere, probably.

In terms of the posts I've made here, maybe 1% or 2% are bantering w/ dera or somebody else, which I ONLY do jokingly. Hopefully nobody actually thinks I'm being serious when I throw a playful jab at him, but clearly some do. The rest are mostly about my experience as a 145 FO, and I certainly do disagree w/ dera and others about whether Envoy is a good place to roll the dice on your regional airline career. If you insist that I quote myself for you, I'm going to have to go through my post history the same way and pull stuff out. If you are still here wanting to come to Envoy, I'm unlikely to convince you even if I do that. So who benefits?
