Depending on when the flying is lost for IOE, you may have to jump through the hoops of LOA 16-01 to get the premium pay.

Just a friendly reminder to flight deck crews, make sure to close that cockpit door when shutting down the plane or leaving it unattended. I just had a gate agent go into the cockpit, after I had shut it down, and turn on the ground power button shortly after I left. Luckily I went back for something and saw the airplane powered up. Apparently the gate agent thought it needed to be on in order to get lights in the cabin, which is not necessary on the 175. I'm sure the door would not have stopped him but it might have discouraged him from ever going in there to begin with. Had I not discovered it I'm sure I would have gotten blamed for it in the morning.

I hope you wrote up the gate agent. That should be a termination-worthy offense.

I had a serious discussion with him about not touching anything in the flight deck, unless he's qualified, in front of his manager. Hopefully the lesson was learned without anyone having to lose their jobs.

Figured. Alright anyway to NOT have scheduling remove a turn from your schedule? I know that it’s pretty much up to whatever they want to do. But I have a turn with a checkairmen that I really do NOT want to be displaced for IOE from. Anyone have any luck with anything like this?

Unfortunately if the planners need that lca for training they’ll displace you and there’s really nothing you can do about it. If it’s just a turn you’re flying with them and not a full trip you might be in luck cause they don’t usually displace for just a turn for ioe (unless it’s a line check/fed ride).
