It is sad how many folks didn’t understand our pay system, but when the union is sworn to secrecy about any negotiations and goes zero-dark-thirty about any details, and passes a deal by union vote without any input from the pilot group based on any hard details, kind of hard to put the blame on those who were in the dark.

Yep, unless you had to walk to the airport in the snow, uphill both ways, you can never complain.
But seriously, if you are an FO and you were being promised pay “raises” for months, and all you got were pay “enhancements” because of the money being shuffled around, then you have the right to feel let down by this.

If you thought you were getting pay raises and bonuses then the only reason you are feeling let down is because of your over active imagination.

I do agree the 175 should be at mainline, as ALL flying should. Regionals shouldn’t exist.
Paybanding is what is BS. Also, we should just get paid based on the seat we can hold, perhaps volunteer for a seat lock to do that. That is a win-win for both the pilot group and the company.
On another note, I am highly disappointed with the union and their acceptance of this offer without putting it to a vote. You all should contact your reps and let them know you expect them to do just that.
If they don’t, I’m sure their decision can be legally challenged by the membership. Just like Envoy management didn’t have authorization from AA on the AIP, it sounds as if the union doesn’t have our authorization on this, which more than meets the threshold of “substantial changes” to the Agreement.
This is a total surrender and a benefit to the few, to the detriment of the many, yet again. Shameful, just shameful, and embarrassing.
“Company agrees to discuss reserve rules”. Utterly and completely shameful.
Good luck with that.

Me either. Pay banding is way better than having to chase around airplanes to make your money. Blended rates would be better but, this is better than aircraft rates
