Initial Interview/Flow Through Questions....
Hey guys, just wondering how extensive your interview is at the AA wholly owned's? Assuming it's a 1-2 day interview with a simulator, technical and HR interview along with an aptitude test/personality test?
Also, as far as flow is concerned. What are the rules as far as attendance/dependability, Training and Conduct? How common is it for someone to be turned away from the flow and class date with American Airlines?
Over at the UA feeders they've instituted a new career progression program called "Aviate". It's not a flow but a conditional offer if the applicant meets certain criteria.
Some have complained that they were turned down for the previous program at the time of the final review even though they met all the requirements and had no issues.
Sorry if any of this was readily available. Didn't find any specifics.

That's where it gets sticky. Gong forward, anyone hired today is subject to any type of disciplinary action holding them back from flowing. How minor or major that disciplinary action has to be to impact your flow...well that remains to be seen. It could be as simple as having one too many sick calls to being much more serious. Only time will tell.

Interview is fairly straightforward - TMAAT with one recruiter, technical with another. TMAAT is TMAAT, technical for the most part is Jepp and they send you the reference material up front, so it's mostly about your ability to study what was given to you vs knowing by heart the weight of the APU battery on a random airplane. Sim ride is only conducted if you have less than 100(?) Hrs in the last year.
With that said, comparing notes with the refugees from other airlines, schoolhouse is more of a testing institution than a training institution and that holds true past the initial training as well. I've heard expletives from former ExpressJet guys about the first recurrent, aptly conducted before your one year anniversary. That also includes your probie ride, failing which by itself might or might not result in termination, but in conjunction with attendance issues or poor probationary reports probably will. I heard that about 6-7% wash out at that stage, but no idea if that's accurate or not.

Remember that the latest flow data from the interactive seniority list is projecting north of 9 years to flow to AA. The hiring wave at AA will all but be over which, in effect, renders the flow useless. Plus, if you do flow, do you really want to be stuck at the bottom of a stagnant AA seniority list?
