Dollars to donuts the MEC accepts the CSLOA regardless of the membership response. From their responses online it’s clear they are in violent agreement with the LOA. They believe the membership doesn’t understand the purpose of this LOA and that’s why we are against it. If we only saw it from their point of view we would support it and therefore they will vote for it. They don’t seem to understand how this will screw the guys who take it. They will lie to us and tell us the majority of responses were positive. The phone call today will be interesting.

While I personally wouldn’t even consider the offer myself, why not let the grown-up adults (guys) who take it decide their own fate? Isn’t going to hurt you.

honest question, No intent to stir the pot here, I have no idea.
it varies by state. When they kept firing me every 8 months I got well versed in the system. The food stamps were $510 a month for family of 3. The weekly unemployment was a max of $580... back in 2016. I checked yesterday and the max in my state is now $823 weekly. With the stimulus that would add an extra $600 weekly for up to four months for weekly total just over $1400. However, in the old rules you’d still be employed at 19 hours and not be eligible. Check the new stimulus rules as I think they are allowing some level of reduced income to still get unemployment.... you’d have to check in your home state.

If you think you are getting screwed by taking it, how about: Do not take it.
Problem solved.

I dont think an leave of abscence qualifies for any of the above. It does allow you to be sent home still on payroll with cut in pay made up by unemployment. Technically the leave is the issue but what do I know with all the changes happening.
good rule to live by is apply, worse case scenario is they say no, nothing lost but everything to gain

What do they say, a pilot is never happy?
The MEC’s have been known to release things when they need to prove to management that the LOA-AIP-TA what-have-you is a crap deal and has a snowball chance in hell of passing. It’s negotiating by letting management see how utterly unacceptable their deal is.
I personally do not see this deal passing. This much public anger over it just means there’s lots and lots more just below the surface. I think the company will need to pony up some more.
your reps are doing good work. Communicate with them what it will take for a deal something like this to pass. Don’t do it here.

It most likely will not be a pilot vote. The 10 day posting period is to obtain feedback and direction from the pilots before the MEC votes. They could send it to an all pilot vote, but it is up to them. So, call or email your reps.

need to check the stimulus rules. They do have stuff for reduced pay now qualifying in many cases from what I’ve read. Outside the CV19 a voluntary leave would not qualify. An hours reduction due to CV19 does from what I’ve seen. Definately check with your state before taking one.

We’ve learned plenty. I was done arguing but since you brought it back up.... some of you are the biggest entitled crybabies I’ve ever come across in my entire life. Someone who overdoses on LSD, acid, and shrooms is more in touch with reality than you.

exactly the attitude of the ones from 2013-2014 that you said were all gone.... seems PSA HR has a personality type they must focus on. What reality? The part where you said screw everybody else if it’s good for you? Granted, I said it more plainly than you did when you said do what’s rights for ‘your’ pilots....

if your MEC is again not communicating with the others, that isn’t good.
