Quote: The MEC approved part time lines for May already. What would be the problem?
These are full time lines on a part time footprint/block. This is tantamount to paying pilots who are senior enough to hold one of these lines a cash bonus. I am sure the MEC is fine with that, My disbelief is that the company would do it.

Perhaps enough people took the stupid 19 hour deal that they felt this would be doable. I don’t know.

So if you’re senior and live in base is there any reason not to bid reserve? You get 3 extra hours of pay and you’ll never get called to fly.

Where are you all even seeing this? I haven't received anything and don't even see the May lines on eagle-quickbid. Am I missing something?

That is exactly what I would do. There is very little chance you would ever be called next month. In addition, not that everyone feels this way, but it would help commuters by having lines to bid instead of sitting reserve. If you live in base reserve is so much easier.

I understand though and this is certainly a choice each will have to make on their own.

many thought they would be 11-12 days off lines but if that was the case they’d be paying a lot more on per diem and hotels, so I see why these lines look this way.

It’s just gonna suck for anyone holding a junior spot

23 days off with 72 hours credit. I'll take that over 11 days off with a slight risk of getting called.
