Even if those 10 came to PSA we are still grossly overstaffed and wouldn't need to hire to cover them. I also don't believe many declined the recall. I'm pretty sure everyone over here is scratching their heads as to why and what's going on because it does not make sense at all.

I think management believes that a good number of the people who chose to not return until March may not return at all and are just collecting two paychecks.

I think the ones in charge expected recovery and vaccine rollout to have happened sooner.

With the new strains coming and international travel being hosed once again, some of these decisions seem dubious at best.

The longer I do this job the more I realize how speculative it is and how decisions take time to come to fruition. I feel like that is why we see a lot of strange positioning in hindsight.

That or to prepare to take the AAG owned CR9’s from Mesa this summer. Hire now to have them ready in a few months.

There are no AA owned airplanes at Mesa.

This was brought up a while back. There WERE, at least, six or seven that AAG owns and had leased to Mesa.

pretty sure they already took them back... I could be wrong. But in my opinion that’s the main reason extended there contract. Mesa owns all the aircraft they are flying for AA.

I believe they dry lease 16 900s. As to whether AA has any say on the leases and who can operate them no clue. But the new contract also allows AA much more flexibility to pull flying. Up to 10 this summer and I think 10 more in 2022.

I completely agree. In the short time I've been at the airlines it's crazy how any little piece of info can be spun up into "this is happening etc."

There is a lot of speculation and rumor's in this industry.

Why don't you buy American and go Tesla? You'll save even more money in operating costs than a Prius

last I checked the pay rates section of the contract, Chevy Volt is like the top shelf product in the category. Slightly used.
