One of the vocal complainers doesn't realize he was in the group who was going to get furloughed no matter what. The company demanded things only to save the 72 line qualified senior pilots. The bottom 155 were toast even if the union gave everything the company wanted.
And even those 72 would only have been safe for 6 months, after that they would have been toast too, but the concessions were permanent - no expiration date offered.

but the fact is republic is growing in ord and east coast and skw is growing in lax, ord and mia while envoy contracts under the ineptitude of aag.

In all fairness, SKW has also shrunk in ORD alongside us, and they haven’t touched MIA.

Also, AA has shrunk LAX flying significantly, with cutting regional routes and frequencies.

Alaska yes, JetBlue no. The proposed code share between AA and B6 was only NYC/BOS I seem to recall. Not at either airline so haven’t been following but pretty sure it wasn’t LAX or has even been approved yet for that matter.
