Hi all! Does anyone have an estimate of current wait times from interview invite to interview? I'm a CFI at 1450hrs and completing the ATM written this week.

Also, one thing I'm curious about is why some are failing the interview.. All I've seen is 'study airlineinterviews.com' and you'll be fine. And I could totally agree with that it seems very thorough. That being said, why is it working for some and not others? If we all know what to study for the interview shouldn't everyone pass? Any advice helps.

Thank you all.

It's not quite that simple, but don't let that scare you. The prep is good, but you will still have a few surprises. They really want to see that you have a personality and would be a good hang in the flight deck for a 4-day trip. Also, have immaculate logbooks. That cost one dude in my interview group. The other that didn't get it got tripped up on a lot of Jepp questions apparently. Another instructor from my group that got the job said there was only one from her interview group that didn't get hired. He was arrogant and not as solid on technical questions as he thought.

Be super prepared, be personable, present well, have your logbooks in order, and study study study. They have a spot for everyone they bring in for interview.

Also, from invite to interview was originally going to be 3 months for me, but they halved that - a very pleasant turn of events.

As of my interview in July of 2024, literally every question was on aviationinterviews. For the tech questions, just answer the question and no more. For the HR questions, feel free to explore the space a little. Be humble, friendly, professional, and excited to be an Envoy (and eventually American) employee.

As others have already noted, be humble and respect the process. Do not try to shine. Remember, your interview is not for the Envoy FO but for a Captain at American. Treat it as such. Have a personable ready answer to this question and make it unique; Why do you want to work at Envoy. -because others are not hiring at the moment will not work here.
All the best!

Anyone have any updates on September class dates?

Just as a heads up don't apply before 1500 hours even if you're 1400+. You'll get an email saying you're not qualified.

Yes, with the written complete. Less than 100 hours to 1500 hours and I got that email.

Asking question at the end will help, and I think this point is overlooked. When I interviewed, I made it a point to ask a few questions (good, thought-out questions, not bs thought of them last minute) to get the interviewers (both HR and pilots) to talk for at least 10-15 minutes. Big thing is they just heard me talk for 30 minutes, I want them to do the talking now and keep them talking for as long as possible without it being socially inappropriate. Doesn't have to be that long, but during that time, I found ways to have mini conversations and share a few laughs and really hammer home the "I'm a decent enough guy to talk to, please hire me". Though if you don't know your technical or have good responses to the HR questions this isn't exactly going to save you.

Thank you all.

I think my “fail” was determined before the actual interview even started. Maybe I'm paranoid, but we had an individual that was introduced as “just an observer” while he learns the ropes of the recruiting office, he was a new addition in candidate interview process with Envoy. My interview was the last of the day, and all of a sudden, he is now leading my interview. I was skeptical immediately, and ultimately was given the “I don’t know what happened in the interview, but unfortunately it was not successful, please study and reapply in 30 days”. Here we are 90 days later, and its crickets from them. Looking at their pictures of classes, you can see they have a “type”, of which I do not fit.
