The reason people are bothered, is because it isn't just about you. The industry is at an unprecedented turning point that it hasn't seen in years. Pilots need to be pulling together to leverage the potential gains industry wide, while you're saying "just vote yes on whatever comes across the table, so I can stay put where I am".

I can understand that logic coming from someone in their late 50s, with 30+ years invested in their job. It may be counter to the goals of the majority, but I understand.

But for such a sentiment to come from someone with 30 years left in their career is beyond mind-boggling. You're getting so much push back from everyone, because your attitude is throwing everyone else under the bus for the sake of you having a little comfort.
The pilot group voted down the last deal despite me, they'll do the same if we get another attempt at a deal, don't worry about that. You'll always have kids dreaming to fly 737's etc. and wanting to go to a legacy, my one vote isn't going to matter at all.

Default You're right but does it matter?

From internal communications today.

" Specifically at SkyWest Airlines, a total of four CRJ200s will be removed from service through the end of this year, and an additional 22 CRJ200s will come off contract in 2015.

To recap some of the previous conversations we’ve had about our fleet, in 2012 we made an agreement with Delta to remove 66 CRJ200 aircraft for the addition of 34 CRJ900 aircraft. The 3 CRJ200s we’ll remove in 2014 (and 1 CRJ200 in Jan. 2015) mark the completion of that agreement with Delta."
You're right in that I quoted CRJ200. I meant 50 seaters. I also said SkyWest and meant the corporate entity, not the airline per se. Given the losses according to the report are more with ExpressJet (as far as I've read and heard), it may be realignment is more there (I don't know).

I don't have the insight of your previous conversations but it seems from this that flying is leaving the SKW corporate (current planes - leaving planes + new planes is less than current planes)...

And to beg the greater point, it is my humble opinion that the industry, right now, is at a tipping point. It is also my very humble opinion that we will see some incredible changes in the next 5-10 years. The industry has moved from 19-30 seat aircraft (Anderson's reference to 25 years ...) to very few airframes entering service that are smaller than 72 seats...This, combined with retirements, not to mention growth (which if we are lucky we will see), combined with increased cost (fuel and labor), combined with market expectation, and recent and forecast inability of regionals to meet feed...I just don't see this (barring another 9/11 event or deep recession (we've sort of been in a U shaped rather than traditional V shaped recession vis a vis jobs) segment of the industry flourishing.

Ray Igou is responsible for the breakdown in negotiations with the company by disclosing to them our lowest threshold in acceptability and thus "showing all our cards"

That Ray went behind the MECs back in a John Glenna fashion with this information

That with this information, the company has in so many words told the negotiators to F off

That Ray aka Cujo is Mason32 and was identified by disinformation ala The Departed.

And that, in short, Ray/Cujo is responsible for ultimately and completely screwing us all over.

Would you believe me?

One quick way to know if any of this is true.

Did negotiations breakdown? Last we heard our Union made a counter to the company's initial offer. Sprague's email said it outlined what would pass an MEC/Pilot vote. This was earlier this week.

There is no telling if it's true, someone who cares could always phone their rep. However, they likely couldn't tell the whole story and we will have to wait til we got some formal update from the MEC.

John, you and Ray are having a tiff, we get it. Please keep it out of the public, its unbecoming.
