Mesa "is" ACARS???
Do you know what ACARS is? Because Mesa doesn't have any on their aircraft. Which is why all their out/in times magically show up as on time.
I need a condom for my head. Because I feel like I'm being mind fu**** today.
Mesa "is" ACARS.....wow. Slap me sideways.

Hate to break it to you guys, but Mesa isn't going anywhere. Its been operating like that for decades and your master Parker aint ditching them.
Do you really feel sorry for those 25yr CA's having crappy schedules? Just wait till those juicy 5 day trips show up. They had the chance to flow to AA but instead, they decided to ride that gravy train that was L-Eagle. I bet half of them are regretting their decision.
Good Luck!

Pretty hostile response. His post got the point across. Would you prefer "equipped" after what he said? Chill out.
How do you know they don't use ACARS? As far as I know they do. I never hear them on the radio calling times/fuel. I've also jump seated on them multiple times and while I wasn't specifically paying attention to any ACARS use they certainly weren't doing any manual W+B. The fact that your post contains incorrect information makes your whole rant seem pretty asinine.

The real problem is maintenance. Without a hanger and well staffed mechanics it has been difficult. As soon as they have the maintenance piece in place things will run much like the other bases. Ground handling has been much better though, and with the addition of more gates less planes will sit and wait to be parked.

All Mesa aircraft are equipped with ACARS.

That must be why Mesa clogs up Ops frequency in DFW calling in-range from 200 miles out, then again on the ground to report their times. Oh, and don't get me started on clearance delivery. DFW has never seen the clearance frequency as busy as since Mesa arrived.
I'm sure they are doing all of that for their health.

Dude, do you know what ACARS is? We don't get PDCs and we have to (sometimes) have to call in range depending on if we're operating an AA or US flight, but we do have ACARS on all of our airplanes. What you're referring to are different features of the system which you, clearly, don't understand very well.

So whatever it is Mesa has, it's not a proper ACARS. Especially when you guys can make up whatever out/in time you need to show on time departures and arrivals.
