The Nov 7th class were told they were doing traditional 145 training not AQP. Maybe they changed it since then.

Not so on the 145. There was some initial confusion starting yesterday because we thought we were, but we were told it was traditional 121 until the FAA can finalize some paperwork.

Hmm ok, the flow plan had upcoming upgrades as aqp not qu. I'd assume it's coming very soon.

Yep. New hires were told they were AQP and a few of the upgrades who called said they were AQP as well. They hinted about the start of next year for it to be finalized.

I totally understand wanting to know if you'll be in AQP or traditional training, but don't let it sway you too much one way or another. I did AQP, and I have good friends who did traditional. We all passed. We all had a jeopardy event at the end. We all had the opportunity to repeat lessons, to some extent, if it had been necessary to prepare us for the final jeopardy event.

Yes, AQP is a somewhat less-stressful method of training because the stress is spread-out, rather than all in one final checkride. But, at the end of the day, you'll get through it if you work hard.

Again, fair questions, but don't let it override all other considerations (like base, QOL, etc.).

Thank for the info on AQP. How about choosing the CRJ as a new hire. I am planning on moving to ORD and would like to fly the CRJ. The question is would it be a smart move knowing that the aircraft is going away or should I stay aim for the 145. Also I was told the 145 is easier than the CRJ to learn? Thanks fort the input everyone.

If you really want Chicago then the CRJ is probably the way to go if you have a class approaching soon. Everyone in the last class got LGA. You can commute and probably make it back to ORD fairly quickly, but CRJ is guaranteed Chicago.

What's the average time for a new hire who is assigned a base s/he didn't want to get transferred where they want to go? Couple of months commuting to reserve and then get approved to transfer back?
