Denied due to staffing limitations.*

Last time they gave planes away they claimed it was because we voted no to their second round of concessions; what's their reason this time? 4 days worth of extra cash? Hummmm......

Default Help advice need it

I'm in my last 50 hours as a CFI and I have 3 CJO, ENDEAVOR, PSA, and ENVOY, what I really want is to work for a WO carrier, I know flows are not realistic in the current state of the industry? but I was wondering if you were in my shoes, what Regional will you choose and why? I'll be commuting to any of their bases. so base is not a big factor for me yet, I'm planning on commuting for 6 months (end of my current lease) and then I'll be probably moving to base.

my head is divided:
ENDEAVOR: best pay but I hear if you get the CRJ-200 is a death sentence.
ENVOY: nice pay good bonus but I really don't want the ERJ145, bases are the best
PSA: Gets ready of the CRJ-200 or ERJ145 problem, but I hear they are over staff, and bases are not great,

So any objective advice will be help full.

Go anywhere they will get you onboard quick and then fly your butt off. Consider it like a military remote tour. Don’t worry about vacations, don’t worry about promises of guaranteed interviews or flows or anything else. Get your ATP, get on board, and get as much 121 time as you can before your regional becomes dysfunctional for lack of CAs who are all moving on faster than they can be replaced.

If/when your regional stalls out and comes apart, use the hours you’ve got to leverage the next job. If it’s only a couple hundred, go ACMI and fly big iron overseas for awhile. If 500 or more you ought to be able to land an LCC/ULCC position. Fly your butt off, build hours, and keep your apps current for the career airline(s) of your choice.

Every year you stagnate anywhere puts 800 people ahead of you at your career employer FOR THE REST OF YOUR CAREER. Ease up when you have the final seniority number - not before.

Go somewhere that will be easy to get to work. Don’t move for a regional, but go where either you can drive to work or commute the easiest. All three of these are good picks, you’ll be fine with any of them, but go where you won’t be stressed about getting to work.

the real question is which legacy do you want to work for?
the answer then becomes avoid the regional they own. They seem to prefer poaching pilots from the other guys wholly owned.

then, base closest to home with easiest drive, trip, flight to work. Avoiding being a commuter is the single biggest quality of life improvement there is, other than getting out of the regionals.

once you pass IOE immediately begin applying at the LCC’s, ACMI’s and the legacies.

once hired at a regional and passing training at the regional your number one job is to get out of the regionals.

For Envoy I would not worry about 145 assignment at this point. If you look at the "class drop" thread there have been no 145 assignments for new hires in 2022. The 5/16 indoc class was the largest in a while and they still didn't have any 145s.

The people have been really great both the training staff and fellow students. The students in the program a week or two ahead of me have been super cool in sharing knowledge and gouges.
(not all instructors are the same, but as a group we can get through, enjoy the good ones and survive the challenging ones)

There is no perfect solution. Just get to a 121, get through class, and get to flying. I am pleased with my Envoy experience. You might love another.

The flip side of the 145 thing is that in the unlikely event you get it you’ll be the bottom guy for literally years. Someone is living that hell right now and has been for the last 6 months.
